View Full Version : 208k Mile Replacement/Repairs

I now have some money. I would normally spend this money on suspension bits. However, I was thinking about it, and since my car has about 208k on the chassis, it might need a little work done. I was thinking about rebuilding the clutch master cylinder, brake master cylinder and brake calipers, along with replacing the clutch slave. The only one of these four that really seems like it needs replacement is the clutch slave, as it is leaking, but I think I'll do the rest as preventative maintenance and to refresh vital systems.
That'd still leave me with a little money left over, is there anything else I should cover? (Keep in mind that the engine is sound and has about 100k miles.)
Please excuse my ignorance on the subject, replacement intervals are not my area of expertise.

As far as the engine goes, I maybe need new spark plugs. Everything else is great.
I need new motor and transmission mounts, but they'd cause me to go over my budget. (Which is extremely tight... think $100 extra after what I already mentioned.)
My tie rod ends are shot, as are my sway bar end links. Lower control arm bushings are stock, therefore worn as well. Nothing is new in the rear multi-link arena, and I think the driveshaft support is shot. (But, since it costs around $80, it'll wait.)
The car "needs" an alignment, but it doesn't pull and tracks quite straight. Wear is even... and extreme. I got 6500 miles out of RT-215s.
Makoto, I'm not sure what you're getting at... can you be more specific? :D
100 dollars isnt gonna do much. It doesnt matter where you put it. Save it until something breaks of money is that tight.
100 dollars will buy you
Half a bushing kit
stock tie rod ends and some gas
driveshaft support and some gas
an alignment and some gas
4 tanks of gas
that's pretty much it. save your money
