Need assistance ASAP

Okay guys before anyone says anything about "search." I have already searched every forum and I also googled.

Here is my ordeal. I recently completed a 5 speed swap on my 98 SE. Everything works fine except that wiring still needs to get done. I made sure that all plugs are plugged in but I cant get my key out. Any ideas?

dont you have to bypass something in the wirering, because in the automatic, to get your key out, you have to put it in park.

there is a cable near the shifter coming from the front of the car that has a small button on it...this needs to be pushed in to remove the key...this worked on a '97 swap, so it should be the same...i dont have pics, but around under the stereo and extra din location for the cable...should be there somewhere....
