does it actually work?
its kinda hard to tell from the pic, but what is it hooked to on the motor?
also, arent they usually on the exhaust side of the engine? what made you go on the intake side?
bracket looks a bit flimsy, if i used something like that on mine motor it would buckle before i hit redline.

I thought engine dampers were supposed to be valved so that in normal driving the engine can move around (so you don't have as much vibration) and when you punch it, it keeps the engine from rotating very much, so you get good response and what-not. That doesn't look like it would give at all, except that bracket. But I could be completely off on how they are "supposed to work", cause I've never used one, or researched them. Either way, if it does what you want it to, then that's awsome. It looks like it was pretty cheap to build.

work awesome... respones is better... my engine doesnt even move...

after autocross and some hard test driving... respones was better... and it didnt buckle... i guess it just looks weak sauce in the pic... the bracket is actually pretty thick.. it was hard to that shape.. .anyways... try it out it only cost 5 bucks what do you go to lose?

You can buy a regular damper off Ebay for $60 and bolt it to the intake manifold, there's a pretapped hole that you can drill out and bolt it right down to.

Good job bro, looks pretty cool for $5. I bet you're happy with it. Do you have stock engine and tranny mounts still?

it wouldnt be strong enough for an sr20 would it?
i donno, my engine dosent move THAT much
i'd be interested in using some harder steel though...i donno if it'd work...but i wouldnt mind making a solid one on each side that bolts to a strut bolt...would that work?

AHHAHAHAHAHAHAH
you thought that ENGINE TORQUE DAMPERS had an actual shock inside them." i pitty the fool"(MR-T) its just a damn metal rod.
correct me if im wrong!
naw you're right...it's a common misconception (i made the mistake too)
it looks like a small shock rod after all...it's actually just a metal rod with a thing on it...it's prettier that way i suppose

looks like a small turn buckle with all thread one one side and a custom bracket bolted to the mani and a bushing allowing some flex on the all thread side?

Here's a even more ghetto one on my turbo KA. I bracket race all the time and the brace does work to improve both reaction lag as well as the sixty foot a bit. Mine is a solid piece and it does make the car shake more at idle but the car is smoother once revs are up.

awesome... mine vibrates alot at idle in the cabin... it didnt bother me much.... but i re did i not too long ago with the bushing so it wouldnt vibrate

dude hardware store.
just build a bracket of some sort that is sturdy enough to keep your engine from moving and mount it somewhere in your engine bay connected to the engine at a secure spot.
THE END.
