View Full Version : aftermath of jgtc going home = pwnd on I-5

So after JGTC, me and some friends decided to stay a day after to checkout shops, hang around, etc and let my gf do her family stuff. we leave around 3:30ish.....decent traffic.

past the mountain doing around 85ish, hit the main straight portion of I-5. we came up on this civic, typical ricer looking....and i was just switching lanes, making my passes(not attempting to insinuate anything) then i seen rice boy come up, and i decide to "have some fun" with him. Any who, guy got owned bad, and i had 3 passengers. But idiot doesnt give up, starts tailing me hard...and theres a blue rickty old van blocking the left lane going like 65....uber slow on I-5 :ughd: ....so anyways, van moves over....i put it in 4th and smash and pull away from riceboy...looked at my dash, 1XX...let off gas and slow down......then all of a sudden flashy lights :(........long story short, he pulled me an riceboy over; i got a ticket for 106, pwnd...yeah...

now im wondering how severe my punishments going to be. Yeah i know, triple digit speeds equal a felony, endangerment of life, etc. im not looking to get flamed for a stupid decision on my part; i know exactly what i did, and how i fucked up. Just want to know you guys's opinions on what ima get. I'm thinking either a big fine, or worse case senario...lisense suspension..jail time...i figure, if im going to get arested, pig would have done so already.

any opinons guys?

edit: oh yeah, fergot to mention. Speed Trap, the van was working in conjunktion with teh damn pig. he blocks, ppl speed past, cop catch writes tickets....just to warn fellow drivers out there...watch out for slow movers in the left lane

In order to correctly asses what fine the court is going to impose on you, you'll have to list the vehicle code the police officer listed on your citation. If it was California Vehicle Code 22348(b), then see attached.....
http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/displaycode?section=veh&group=22001-23000&file=22348-22366
(b) Any person who drives a vehicle upon a highway at a speed
greater than 100 miles per hour is guilty of an infraction
punishable, as follows:
(1) Upon a first conviction of a violation of this subdivision, by
a fine of not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500). The court may
also suspend the privilege of the person to operate a motor vehicle
for a period not to exceed 30 days pursuant to Section 13200.5.

You better start praying the judge gets laid the night before, (or the morning of), your court appearance cuz if he/she didn't, then you're in deep sh*t!! The judge can throw the book at you!!!

As for speeding on I-5....that's a big NO-NO!!...Patrol cars sit at the bridge overcrossing and just wait for you. They can see your ass tearing down the highway well before you see them. No speed trap involved. People are just too damn stupid tearing down I-5 at uber speed. If the patrol car don't get you, then the CHP aeroplane does. All the plane does is call the patrol car ahead & tell the cop that your coming. I've seen it happen oh too many times during my times of driving I-5.

ID

PS:
Cop probably didn't arrest you cuz he had your d/l & registration info. Plus he didn't want to bother with transporting your passengers & impounding your car.

lawyer. end of story.

most "ticket lawyers" charge about $150 or so. Well worth it in this case.

fight it...

If you are willing to go the distance u can win a fight ...

you can win, just check out this book (require some research/reading...)
its called "FIGHT YOUR TICKET AND WIN"
my law teacher told us about that book. there are like many ways to fight it.

First is to delay it by writing it in saying you wish to fight although you still have to pay the penalty ( but refunded if you win ). Its on the back of the ticket somewhere in fine print.

its called a written something hearing? testimony?... where you have about 6 months to write in an essay of what happened. and the cop writes his side.. judge reads it and a decision is made...
but...

the day or 2 before your due date you go to extend it for as long as you can whether they give you 2 months or 6 more months. the point is to delay it as long as possible. the cop will have likely turned his side of the story in. if he does....

you subpoena his written testimonial and his copy of the ticket (cops write notes on the back of their side of the ticket so in court they can reread real fast what happened that night. you can use what he wrote against him basically.

you are allowed to subpoena both items ( no matter what dumbshit clerk says "no you can't") because it is evidence in your case. you gotta research and find the code for that also i forget.

now final step you send yours in...if he does'nt submit his you win...

you WILL most likely lose the case this way... BUT... thats the point too.. to keep it laggggggiing on... so when you lose...

you appeal it, and ask to have the hearing before his honor or judge

now @ the court date wait a while and if u see the officer that ticketed u ask for an extention .. u have to do this before your scheduled time before the judge. now after that final re extention, you goto court. he will have most likely forgot what the fuck happened. and if he doesn't show.... you win...

the book will tell you what kind of questions to ask.

just as a tip, in court, it looks like this for traffic violations...

judge, defendant, officer

officer makes his statement. defendant questions officer. judge makes decision.

for example:

the point is to make cop look clueless, stupid, contradictive... like my violation was 22350(unsafe speed), 88 in 65, considering traffic conditions my speed wasn't unsafe.. i asked him, in your opinion how was traffic... he said light... (he can't lie ... cuz its obvious when traffics light or heavy and u can find traffic condition reports and stuff from other sources like CalWorks??Trans??) road conditions... safe ... visibility ... clear... to the best of your knowledge was my speed unsafe, endangering any other vehicles or was the road in hazardous to myself? he says no but you were speeding. The VC 22350 is ( unsafe speed considering road hazards etc.) nothing about over the speed limit. so he wrote me for the wrong violation and you can ask the case to be dismissed.

Thats basically how I won my case. If ur willing to go the distance do it.

There are many other things u can do too, along the process to prolong and lag the case on...

good luck

i really hope you don't have to show up for court in the county you got pwn3d in. cuz that's quite a drive.

Wow funny thing is while in Cali for 5 days I saw maybe 4 CHPs and we spent 50% of our trip on the highway. We weren't driving very normally either, clocking 100+, jumping car pool lanes, bugging some guy in test car, and racing a 5.0 in our poon tang cruiser, and never had any issues from cops. I would have thought you could never get in trouble on cali hwys. 1/3d of the cars have no license plates... All the bikes drive b/w the car pool lane and the regular lane.

I am just very suprised you got pulled over, I don't even think I saw one person pulled over the whole trip, just big accidents.

alex..you're a fuckin idiot for

1-racing a civic..
2-posting about it
3-racing a civc.

if you ever race a civic you should have your car impounded. the cop should have given you a ticket for racing a civic, not speeding.

I know Alex..maybe the way i acted was harsh, but we make fun of people who do stupid shit like that on the road . Driving 106mph on I-5 isnt stupid. It's safe in fact. Especially in a BMW which can cruise 100 without breaking a sweat. But you raced a ricer. In a civic. And you got a ticket for bragging rights to a race that was pointless. Had you crashed racing in the mountains(driftoffcliff) i wouldnt have made fun. Although it's become an inside joke cause you're a good sport about it, i dont think you were stupid for it at all. My post would have been the same whether you got pulled over or not. The racing part was what pissed me off. I thought you knew better.

damn, you be getting caught up everytime you go to SoCal. i say take the plane next time. but i know how you feel man. i'm in the same situation as you except i wasn't racing anyone. i got 2 speeding tickets within 2 weeks. my insurance is already hella high at $1400/6 months (liability) and it's about to go up even more... don't let it get to you so much though. hire a lawyer or whatever. just keep your head up cause you never know what's gonna happen.

That civic is ricey looking. But your driving style is ricey too.
Keep the racing on the tracks and off the streets.
You deserve that ticket. You're going to lose your license for 30 days and pay a huge fine. One less idiot on the road =D

SimpleSexy180
12-25-2004, 12:59 AM
i think the worst tickets are the tiny ass BS ones like for instance me...(FAIL TO SIGNAL) bitch ass "beach" cop was tailgating me in a suv and i turned left to exit and he flashes me down ($171 for ticket). It sux to get a 100+ speeding ticket but he knew he did somethin that COULD have caused more danger then my incident. Wait fail to signal on beach property is dangerous? scratch the MORE dangerous...

Yup, my bro got a ticket over the summer. Not to mention it is mandatory to show up to court in the county the ticket was issued in.

If you guys are thinking im posting to brag about beating the damn civic, your dead wrong. I got PWND on I-5...who gives a shit about the civic. The civic is only in the story because it was a factor of a stupid action and how i got caught up.
shesh, you guys that know me should know me well enough not to brag about shit like that. And to clear things up, I dont even consider what happend "A race".....I was just bored on I-5, and decided to fuck around with it. If thats a race, then so be it.

Bus and freeloading rides here I come!!........fine and lisense suspension doesnt really bother me all that much.....2 points on insurance sucks balls. Maybe when the coupe gets running and im insured under that...itll be slightly lower?.....still sucks regardless.

another day passed....another day being hardheaded...another hard lesson learnt.....when the hell will i learn?

Anyway, if the ticket was issued in Kearn county the fine will not be less than 400 dollars, since you had passengers and were going 106 your fine will probably be 1000. No jokes. You can pay it in installments for a 40-50 dollar one time fee.

You can goto the Kearn county courthouse, but I would call the court and ask to have the case moved to the Bakersfield court, its a little closer than where it sounds like you got your ticket.

Obviously its 2 points on your record. Its a 30 day suspension on your DL, not really that big a deal. Just make sure that you don't drive during those 30 days, its really easy to fall into a cycle of getting tickets from other tickets.

Sucks for you, but 3 passengers and racing on I5...yeh thats pretty bad, and the judge isn't going to like that if the officer mentions it in his report.

Oh, and leave plenty of time to drive to the court house, getting a ticket going to court...yeh..sucks.
