SOHC to DOHC engine

Hey guys, just wondering if the SOHC tranny could hook up to the DOHC motor? Just wanted to know if this would work since I'm throwing my 98 motor into my friends 89 240. I have an auto so when i swap my motor, he will either use his tranny *if possible* or he has to find a DOHC tranny. So im wondering if it hooks rite up. SOHC tranny to DOHC motor? :eek2:
