I've junked cars without a title. It was just like throwing out trash on pickup day. About that easy.

Check the local ordinances governing the impounding of vehicles on school property. Usually that means a trip to your campus police department. By law the school should have some sort of sign posted in or around the parking facilities explaining the conditions when your vehicle can be removed from the property. That sign should also list the municipal code / vehicle code / etc. giving the school permission to remove the vehicle from said property. the sigh should also list a local police department phone number to contact if in the event your vehicle was towed.
By law, the impounding tow yard has to notify you or attempt to serve you with some sort of "Notice" to advise you that they are in possesion of your property. You have a certain amount of time to respond, pay the fines and remove your vehicle from the impound yard before it is sold at auction.
You can try fighting it, but it's gonna take work on your part.
Anyhow, hope this helps....good luck!!

WTF what kind of bs is that. Man i sware people are getting so sensitive in america.

Actually cities and counties are getting more sensitive when it comes to automobiles in driveways and backyards...Non running cars are now considered a public nuisance. See attached example from the Baton Rouge Police Department.... http://brgov.com/Dept/brpd/faq.htm
People tend to think that junk cars in a neighbor's driveway or backyard is an eyesore, lowers the property value of their home and attracts crime to the neighborhood. Go figure....

Remember...it's not the police that makes up these rules. It's your local city or county council member. Blame those idiots for the rules.

Remember this next time you go to vote....

Man, we had like 7 240's on our property at one point and were working on them like everyday including friends cars so the neighbors called the City. We had an inspector come in and take pictures and said that you can't have more than 2 unregistered cars on the property. If you have more than 2 unregistered cars, which we did, then the property is considered a junkyard. He also said that you can't work on other peoples cars either. He gave us a month to get rid of all the cars. Oh and we had a paint booth setup in our backyard too but he didn't see that though.

Everyone in our neighborhood works on cars and some have more than 2 unregistered cars but it's these new neighbors that are :ghey:.

i moved to a new apt when my 240 was broken, and when the car was healty enough to limp home, i brought it to its new home, and parked it in my assigned parking spot. and of course i worked on it almost every day. then one of my neighbors complained to the manager that i worked on my car and it never moved.

i looked in the apt rules and it doesn't say anything about working on cars or having to drive your car if you have one. it just says you can't have unregistered, non-running, or dismantled cars.

so i ignored the complaint and nothing happened to me.
i win.

Well...if you're the registered owner of the vehicle & the tags are current, yeah...you should be able to pick your car up. Just be prepared to pay for the towing & impound charges....Pay those & you get your car back....
