I love how a nice airbox looks, but is there any advantage of running a panel filter and airbox vrs an open filter?

Stock airbox is qite restrictive, even with a "sporty" panel filter dew to some silencers and resonators... Esp on turbo.

i know, my question more refers to expensive airboxes such as ARC. They're a weird company with very picular products.

ARC is quite allright, some japanees tuners consider it even better then "open air".... And it realy looks good.
And piping is realy strange. But they are not the only to go that way. But their BOW and oil pan is more "standart".

and open filter is benefical since u get more airflow to the engine but..it can suck in more hot air underneath the hood...the stock airbox has "routers" that attempt to bring cold air from the outside...cept the stupid engineers put a resonator directly underneath the airbox...they should put an air router from the chuki vent. id just go with c.a.i

The best setup I can think of would be a Airbox. Have the filter in the Airbox in the engine compartment and then route some piping so that the only air that can be fed to the engine is air from outside the engine compartment. Thats what I plan on doing this spring.
