View Full Version : Reasonable rattle-can match for Pearl White?

I'm picking up a bumper in a day or two, just a solution for a few months until i can afford a kit (or a NAVAN). It's nothing that interesting, just a C-west knockoff, but it's better than running around with a smashed front end. However, the bumper is green. I need to paint it to match my Pearl White S14, but all I'm gonna do is Rattle Can (also gonna paint my Navan wing at the same time), as there's no point in spending a lot of money on an $75 bumper, plus I also intend to repaint the whole car in the future. (It'll be a new coat of white, though, possibly even new Pearl White, as I love the look and want to preserve the (relatively) rare color.) However, I haven't been able to find Dupli-Color, or any similar paint, in Nissan Pearl White. So, does anyone know what will be a reasonably close match for the Pearl white, something that will look decent on the bumper?

You really cant go to the auto paints store and try and match it yourself? I hope you do realise it is going to look like total shit as well and the smashed front end probably looks better. Why the fuck does everyone call it a damn rattle can job now, its fucking spray paint for christ sake...jhd fsjsajdhdbvkmvdvvjhdv jn

I didn't even know there was an "auto paints store". I work at Kragen, and I checked out everything we've got, but there was nothing billed as "pearl white", and it's hard to get an idea of how well a paint will match by the color of the cap on the spray can. Especially as I haven't seen my car in three and a half weeks.

If not a rattle can job, any suggestions on where to go to get just these pieces painted?

The best matching spray paint (IMO) can be found here... http://www.paintscratch.com

It's pretty pricey for spray paint, but it matches with new OEM paint. I know this because I used it to spray paint my fender. :p I wish I had two cans instead of one and something to wet sand it....fender would look much better.

BTW....pearl white is an expensive color.

edit: 91CRXsiR beat me to posting the link :bash:

Holy crap, 30 bucks a piece? Plus midcoats? If that's what it's gonna take, I may just have this professionally painted, I'll probably screw up the tri-coat application anyway.

Good uck trying to find some paint to match it. It is DEF. going to be hard! I will say this, you are not going to realize how pearl your car really is until you put some different paint on there. lol.

Actually, my rear bumper doesn't really match either. So I do realize how pearl it is. I think when I get repainted, it's gonna be a full coar of PWM.

I don't think they have pearl white but they do have super white at Kragen in the duplicolor cans. The match isn't too bad. Is it really gonna be thatdifferent from Pearl? :P

The paint from paintscratch.com is perfect OEM match. Trust me :D

There is a HUGE difference between the pearl white and the super white.

I'd get it professionnally painted. Our pearl white is a 3 coat application...

I just kinda don't want to pay more for paint then for the bumper. On the other hand, the bumper's in great condition, and the paint will be nice, so I can probably sell it later on and not lose too much.

Because calling it spraying could be confused with a *real* spray job.
