Well, after a few months of waiting, the new issue of Dressup-Car is finally on the stands, and not only is my car in it, but I got my own little feature to boot!

However, I'd really like to know what they say about my car. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me with translation.

did you go out in the rain or something?

Not much I can do about the rims, not much choice in 4lug. Still, spacers are coming soon. And since when do coilovers, Z brakes, adjustible suspension components, seat and harness, and an ExMag constitute stock? Or is it that you're only willing to accept cars with SR20s, fancy paint, and big bodykits?

As for the rain, it was dry when we went up, but started raining when we were there.

Finally, here's one of our members, ChokudoriS13!

I don't go out every night, but I make SURE to go out in bad weather! As I see it, I lack experience in wet conditions, so I take every oppurtunity to improve my skills in the rain.

Besides, I can slide like hell, even without LSD, and without ruining my tires!

Will not be defeated by rain! Will not be defeated by fog!

We were impressed at the strength of the driver's will and his dedication! (when he continued to run in the horrible weather. I was one of very few who did)

But he should be careful, or he may catch a wall! (Translations on this varied, from saying he may get plastered on a well to saying he may get hooked. Catching a wall seemed like a good compromise.)"

Don't tell me you actually asked to have your car in the magazine right "shin"?

Shin_Kudo
12-07-2004, 12:23 AM
No, actually. They took a pic as I drove by. (Admittedly, I slowed down a bit to let them get a good shot, but so did everyone that night. And, also, I didn't even know the mag was gonna be there. I just showed up that night, as I often do, and they were there.

That makes me feel a lot better... now if we could do something about the nick name shin then we'd be on to something.

I got it from an anime. I'd change it, but wouldn't that mean a new account? Plus, what to call myself?

Seeing as how that link's been posted, how about giving me some input.

Chas maintains that ONLY a car made IN the US can be USDM. I, and everyone I've talked to, agree that a car made specifically for, and sold in, the US, is a USDM car. Therefore, the 240SX is USDM. Many times I've seen members refer to USDM 240SX parts, their cars as USDM, and so on. However, this guy insists, quite strongly, I may add, that there is no such thing as a USDM 240SX, and no USDM parts for any Nissan, Toyota, Honda, or any other, because the cars are made in Japan. Can I get some input here?

It's LHD and conforms to all US crash standards and emmisions laws...and was never sold in Japan in the same configuration.

Quite the opposite for the "Silvia"...

No matter where the parts were made, it's still a US car.

Are you to tell me my new Chevy truck, that was made in Canada, is "CDM"...???

It doesn't matter. Anyone who shouts 'GO suck a dick fan boy.' isn't worth debating, especially over a definition. He lost the debate the moment he started ranting like a lonely 12 yr old.

However, since JDM stands for Japanese DOMESTIC Market, not Japanese EXPORT Market, it refers to parts or cars (or whatever) made for sale in Japan.

honda nissan and toyota do have USDM even by that kids definition because they all have US plants but no matter what the kid flips out over a definition is not really worth debating with

Since the US market and Japanese market vehicles obviously share lots of components, I can say, "80% of my car is mAd tYtE jDm, yo!"

That 'JDM vs USDM useage' argument was teh weaksauce. Aren't there better things to bitch about?

Shin: when are you going to put a turbocharger on that beeyatch?

Shin: when are you going to put a turbocharger on that beeyatch?

When I've finished paying for my new motor, brakes, suspension, cage, etc.

3gs for a turbo kit (and I need the kit, I want CARB legal) is a lot on $8/hr.

Maeda

and instead of shin im going to give you a usdm name you cultural fetishist.

I hit a rock, cracked my oil pan, and starved my motor driving around like that.

And isn't the Greddy kit CARB exempt?
