I dodged a dear the other night coming home from work and ended up hitting a curb. My car now rubs when I turn right. THe right front wheel looks as if its messed up and rubs against the inner fender liner. Before I tear it all apart and replace the parts should I even bother getting an alignment. A friend of mine thinks an alignment is going to fix that. It looks like the wheel moved back about 2 inches. Some feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Jack it up and take the wheel off. Look for broken parts. If you are still not sure post pics of the suspension. I'm sure you broke something.

check the
Tie Rod
Tesnion rod
Lower Control Arm

i would bet money on the fact that one of those is broken/bent.

it's a setback problem. it's more than likely that something had been bent that caused the wheel to move back. be sure to take a look at the suspension components to make sure that it is / is not bent. if you just bring it to an allignment shop, they're just going to do what they do everytime. they're not going to waste their time if they see something bent, tell you that it's bent(some do), and have you roll off with them having no $$$ for diagnosis. their work is based on flat rate. they're gonna be ingenuitive with what's there for them and just set everything as it should be. it's okay at first, but you realize you may still have that bent suspension component there that needs to be replaced. without replacing, it can cause allignment issues once again in the near future

Yeah that seems to be the order of things to check. The next thing is time to do all that fun work. Once I get it all sorted i will be happy.

It will take you 15mins.
Take the jack and lug wrench out.
Break the lugs loose.
Jack the car up.
Take off wheel.
Look for broken parts/take pictures.
Put wheel on.
Drop car.
Tq lugnuts.

I work at Just Tires as an alignment tech, sometimes it will work. if nothing is broken or bend then an alignment should help. I don't know what car you drive, but most cars like the !989-1994 240sx don't have adjustable camber in the front, however, you can pick up a camber for cheap.
