Does anyone know if a company makes a stronger ring and pinion gear for our rears? I wanna actually set up my rear end the way I want it. And does anyone know any breakaway specs on some lsd company's like Kaaz or cusco? I know the Nismo lsd has 70 ft lbs breakaway tq.

Well pretty much. Any thoughts are helpful. And please share any expierences with any type of LSD..

Its really dirty when you take out the stock and replace it. Wear goggles because I got shit in my eyes all morning.

Yeah I found them.. Courtesyparts.com sells different sets. They sell:

3.700:1
4.083:1
4.364:1
4.636:1

Now i just gotta decided which LSD company I'm going to go with and which ratio, either 4.3 or 4.6

a lot of the vw guys(car prior) run a 3.94 r&p then overdrive their fifth gear to keep some decent gasmileage going ons. that possible here as well and what part? i like the sound of a 4.3 but i chill on the highway a lot

Hahahaha, Luke, I don't think there is a single differential thread on Zilvia where you haven't tossed out that same tidbit. Not everyone wants a welded diff. :bowrofl:

The 240SX version of the FS5W71C trans already has the tallest possible fifth gear (0.759:1). The only other option is 0.838:1 which was used for SR20DE cars and will raise the revs.

4.363:1 isn't a highway gear... it's totally streetable, but it will be loud.

yep 4.3 IS very streetable and not as bad as people ASSUME (no first hand expirience)
i had it for about a year on a helical diff before i went clutch diff on a different pumpkin

4.3 is VERY streetable and on the freeway its not as bad as people THINK.

is the helical on s15 4.3?

It's less than 10% taller. It's the reverse of switching to 3.6xx... I don't see any streetability issues.
