if it doesn't have an LSD, there is no ABS either. They come as a package.

slam ur brakes while your going and see if it locks, or if it has abs it will pulsate.

this might not be relavent but in my s13, if i slam the brakes at any speed, its 99% impossible to lock them up and i dont have abs. I was just wondering if the s14 has better brakes?

Or look for:
1) A dummy light when you turn the car on that says "ABS"
2) The big-ass ABS distribution block under the hood, on the passenger side.
Without both of those, you DO NOT have ABS.
Most S13/S14s DO NOT have ABS anyway, chances are you don't.

on an s14, the abs module is in the rear of the car... i believe it's in the compartment where your factory jack is located.... correct me if i'm wrong...

either you have incredible tires or something is wrong with your brakes. without abs, you should have no difficulty locking up your brakes if you try.

You don't know what ABS looks like under the hood and you're trying to put a line lock in? I think you may run into trouble.

amen, you just said it in a nicer way.
serious, if you're not smart enough to know what an ABS module looks like, you shouldnt be working on your car. its a fucking junction of hydrolic lines, its the most space consuming crap..

i am running 17 inch tires. 215/40hr - 17
i just recently changed my back brake pads. if i do 60+mph and put the brake pedal to the floor, all that happens is the car slowly starts to slowdown, no locking!

incredible tires or not, locking up should always be possible sans a major brake malfunction, under size.

would changing the stock brake lines to ss braided lines help with braking power?

did you bleed your brakes properly?
sounds to me like you have a lot of air in your lines somewhere. Possibly in your MC.
I would suggest getting some speed bleeders (like from pdm-racing.com) and do a proper bleed. With the system properly bled, the pedal shouldn't even go below the accelerator when threshold braking.

would you need to get your brakes bleeded after time? or is it once they have been bleeded they are fine forever?

brake fluid is "hydroscopic" meaning it absorbs water from the air over time. If you have never flushed all the brake fluid out of your system, and replaced with new fluid, then you likely have water in your lines. I do a complete flush about 1-2 times a year. More often when I'm at the track a lot.
Now the water itself isn't the real problem here. the problem is when you start braking, and you brake fluid heats up, and the water in the lines boil, and turn into gas. This creates air pockets in your brake lines, and causes the situation you are having. Push the mushy pedal, and don't stop.

thats pretty much my problem, when i take my car back out in the spring ill flush all the fluid and put new brake fluid in and see if that was the problem. :duh:

open your fuse box and look for the cover and fine the anti skid fuse. if there isnt a fuse, then you dont have abs.
