I bought a "s14" 5 lug swap compete on cl for my s13. 300zx brakes, the whole lot... or at least I thought so. Pressed in s14 lower ball joints into the 13 arms and have been enjoying the car all summer. Recently the wheel bearing started growling, so I ordered new s14 timkens and.. they don't fit... I've been searching, and cannot find, for the life of me, what bearing has a center bore of 34mm... I get random "200sx s14x-15" searches of this size (non US), but cannot find why most sites say the s14 is 1.18xxx" when my spindle measures 1.33xx or 34mm.. ideas? Thanks in advance.

are you sure you received s14 bearings? did you measure the ID?

Yes, triple checked part numbers and ID, they are too small.

Did you read the first post?

I checked those part numbers also. Still the wrong size bearing.
Called the dealership today with no help from the excellent parts department. Amazingly enough, the "nissan tech" doesn't have access to specs on a bearing.. amazing.
At this point I don't care if have to buy new hubs with bearings, just need a clear answer. I have places I'll call on Monday but was hoping for answer sooner.

S14 front hub bearings are not replaceable. They are a sealed piece that will damage the hub if removed. The S14 timkin bearings being sold are S13s which have a smaller spindle which is why they're too small for your spindle. You'll need to get 2 new hubs.

Second this. I just redid mine this past spring;

That's where I got mine.

Pic of me failing at life on mine (yeah I got Timken bearings from Rock Auto too) before ordering the complete units from Z1. That's the aftermath of trying to press them out with a 12T shop press. Spacer tilted a little bit and the race came back out the top side. Did a check and realized the Timken was too small for the spindle anyway and said screw it.

ALSO, I highly recommend cleaning out the factory grease, even on a brand new hub/bearing, and replace it with something better.
I've been using NEO grease for over a decade, another thing I can blame on dave coleman.

Thanks for the info guys. I figured as much about the replacement, just as well. I called z1 this morning, unfortunately they dont have them in stock to measure, so we'll see what happens. I will post my findings.

I've done this with every bearing on every car I've owned since I had a Miata, but I use Redline CV-2 (just because, I don't have anything against NEO and use only NEO diff oil in my diff [again just because]) instead.
Seriously worth it. I haven't run across a single bearing that I'd consider properly lubricated from the factory.
