which timing chain kit would you get?

Nissan wants $500

NAPA autoparts wants $400

The only piece missing from the kit on ebay is a front crank seal, which goes for $8 at Nissan and its in stock.

$500 is way too much for a timing chain overhaul. I'm pretty sure if I dont buy from NISSAN it shoudl be ok, but you never know so I'm asking you guys here for advise. Should I get the nissan kit for $500 or just go with my other option (ebay or nisspartswholesale).

between nisspartswholesale and ebay, there is a $60 difference. Let me know what you guys think.

Yeah, no timing chain kit that I ever came across was $500. They were all no more than $150. $500 is a '97 shortblock at the junkyard with 50,000 miles. Maybe Nissan thought you mean't the timing chain cover?

Just watch out for some of these aftermarket kits use cheap steel(powder?) in there Cam gears. I've always been told to use the factory kit.

yeah, the nisspartswholesale is like $216. But, I called up NISSAN dealer and asked how much for a kit. They said that they have to order everything individually... so they quoted me $500

this is for:

top and lower tensioner
top and lower chain
lower left and right chain guides
front crank seal
cam gears
crank gear

What parts did you use to when you changed your timing chain?

yeah, that is what I was worried about... for $60 more dollars, i'll pass on the ebay one. prob a wise choice eh?
