Hey guys I?m in the middle of doing my 5 speed swap into my s14 using an s13 trans. So far everything is going butter smooth. The only thing I?m not sure about is the wiring. All the write ups I?ve been following reference the link below for the wiring but the link is now broken so it seems I?m shit out of luck.

Does anybody have a diagram or maybe a copy of that page? Really anything would help, the write ups on nico and zilvia dont really do a great job of explaining the wiring. Especially for a s14 with a s13 trans.

The only difference between s13 and s14 ka tranny is the hole in the back of the bellhousing for the cas which you dont need.

Yea I knew about that, but if you look in that write up the ?inhibitor switch? doesn?t look the same on the s14. The colors and where the wires are landed in the switch is different.

Look at the electrical section of the fsm for your car. Or get a wiring specialties transmission harness.

I just have to figure out which plug is the inhibitor switch. Theres no diagram to show where it is in the car.

There sure is.

The electrical drawings show you what plug they are referring to, usually in a circle. (note the E-13 next to the inhibitor switch.) Then it's just a matter of scrolling to the bottom to look at the harness layout and locate that connection.

Look on the bottom of the first picture I posted. It even shows you the shape of the plug, as well as the pinout for that plug (wires 3, 4, and 6)

You are the absolute man! Thank you!

I have another issue that maybe you or someone else can help with..

I swapped the tranny, jumped the wire to make the car think its in park so i can start it(didn?t wire the sensors yet). Now when i try and start the car the driveshaft spins as i turn the key. I have the shifter in the neutral position I?m pressing down the clutch.

The other problem is that when the transmission was off of the car i was able to shift between all the gears smoothly. When its on the car though i can only go to 1st and 2nd. It wont budge to to other gears. This is a secondary issue though because i cant even start the car without it jumping forward.

Could be your shifter is installed/assembled incorrectly. Is it an aftermarket short shifter?

There's a video of some guys replacing an S13 shifter that shows some decent views of the components. You don't necessarily have to remove the entire plate if you have snap ring pliers you just need to remove the shifter itself to check if it's aligned correctly (for the OEM shifter). If it's an aftermarket shifter you don't even need snap ring pliers, just an allen wrench to remove the 4 bolts.

>BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO DROP ANYTHING IN THE HOLE WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SHIFTER. ALSO IF IT'S A SHORT SHIFTER BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO DROP THE SPRINGS ON EITHER SIDE OF THE SHIFTER AND REINSTALL IN THE CORRECT SEQUENCE.<

I can't stress that enough. It's super easy to drop stuff down there or lose the springs and put it back together wrong.

I'm guessing that's your issue but, in any case, it's the easiest thing to start with because more invasive checking is going to require you to pull the transmission again.
