1. Whenever i take mild left turns, theres is a loud rubbing sound, its almost a grind, It doesnt always happen. sounds like its rubbing the fender well or somthing but ive checked and theres no indication of rubbing, theres also extensive wheel hop from the left rear. Everything is fine on the otherside.
2. theres a very loud thump coming from the driver front strut. Whenever i hit a bump it feels like a bang. I can push on the hood on the top and it thumps also.

Do you have coilovers?
I wouldn't be surprised if this was another case of bolts on a slotted bolt hole on the lower bracket coming loose...

Sounds like you've got a bad strut and it's bottoming out oe of your front wheels. If you lean on the driver's/passenger fender and simulate some bumps does the car rebound alot? Or does it return to normal shortly after the rocking? also does the strut squeak at all when you go over bumps? Test it on speed bumps go over them slowly, if your wheels squeak or the car feels "boaty" when it goes over the bump then that's definitely it.
Good luck.

sorry i should have sepcified.
#1 is rear left rubbing problem
#2 is front left thumping problem--i push on the fender to simulate road conditions and it makes the thumping sound but returns to stock level and doesnt bounce around.

#1 sounds like it might be the pads...? check the pads wear, also check the tire wear. Could have a badly worn itre that will make noise under certain conditions...just before blowing out!!
#2 This should be the pillow mount and strut dust boot being bad. Sounds like a thump when hitting bumps while driving? The rubber in the pillow mount might be shot. To find out if it's bad you have to pull the entire strut assembly from the car and inspect the pillow mount. If it grind when you turn the top or the rubber looks badly cracked, replace it. you can get a KYB pillow mount for 50 bucks or so from enjukuracing.com. got mine from them. Good parts.
Or you could buy my used ones for less. I'm going to replace them with Nismo pillow mounts this weekend. Let me know.

AH...HA!!! I just remembered your left rear rubbing problem. Had the same thing once I did my rear 300zx brake swap. I put in cheap ebay rotors to start with and had a scraping noise when i would turn left. It eventually went away but when I pulled the hubs apart to work on the ebrake lines the scraping came back!! I replaced the rotors with brembo blanks and voila the sound was gone. If it only does it when you turn then it would be coming from a part that is put under load during a turn. Check subframe bushings, ball joints, pad & rotor condition, and all suspension arm bushings for cracks or signs of bad wear. It's a start.

I just did my Z32 front brakes this weekend and I'm getting a grinding noise from what sounds to be the front left. It doesn't happen often and only when I'm turning left or right. There doesn't seem to be any clearance issues with anything, and the only thing I can think of is that maybe there's some slight play in the hub that didn't effect anything with the stock caliper/rotor combination? I'm hoping it's just something with the new pads seating somehow, cause I'm stumped.
