Hey everyone i used to be on zilvia about a year ago when i sold my 92 S13. I have been driving a jeep cherokee for the past year and have realized just how much i miss my 240. I finally have enough money to get another but i have come across a delema. It seems that for the same price($6-9000) as an immaculate S14 with low miles i can get a decent S13 with an SR20 already swaped in it. The cars planned tuning setup is going to be for both track and drift. Now im no driftmaster and certinly no Schumaker so i probably "wont be able to use the SR to its full potential" right away. But it seems like it would be less of a hassle to have it already installed especailly since i have never done a swap before. But on the other hand if i get the S14 i wont have to worry about any engine problems for a while, have time to learn drift and cornering on an more moderately powered engine and plus i just love the body styles of the S14 so much better than the S13.

So what do you think, should i go with an SR S13 or a super clean S14 and worry about swaping in the SR later?

I think you should form your own opinion on the subject and not rely on an internet forum to decide what you might like

damn all these peeps from michigan all now into srs, s14 is more 1337. thats what id go with, btw, owning a swapped sr is never just a "its in and done" kinda thing, u will need to tool it a bit, and if you didnt do the work, its gonna be harder,

Yea i have been "into srs" for a good five or six years now. I just didnt have the cash before to tune my car when i had it. and come on dont treat me like some noob that just read the last issue stooper street telling me to buy a honda. like i said i have owned a 92 s13 before and unfortunately things came up and i had to sell it. I have entered in multiple autocross' and track days have and have an good technical understanding of both cars. I know the KA and its a decent motor but it dosnt have anywhere near the aftermarket capibilities of an SR. And i know the sr will take tuning, I have no problem with that, i want that...this is not going to be my daily driver i have my jeep for a daily. I just wouldnt want to do a crash course engine install and run the risk of throwing more money than i have to due to problems which will manifest from a poor swap. I thought this was a viable thread and i am simply trying to spark some discussion and get some opinions. $10000 is alot of money and i formally apologize for asking what another person would do with it if they were in my position. I in no way mean anyone offense by this reply but honestly some of you have to chill out a bit.

Now someone close this thread...i dont feel like getting flamed any further. :duh:

I think your going to damage what ever you buy, so get a beater to begin w/ that way when you crash trying to be Takumi, you won't feel so bad. IMO

My original reply has not changed, buy what YOU want, not the current "it" car of the moment and not what some people on the internet tell you...

Im sorry i didnt know that anyone thought it changed. As far as the car being the "it" car of the moment i bought my first 240sx two and a half years ago before anyone had designated the S chassis as "it". Besides in the end are any of you going to buy it for me. I think the decision in the end will logicaly be mine as i will be the one exchanging money and purchasing the car. Sorry if i wanted to hear some opinions of others who may have gone through this before. Phil, this was a flagrent example of postwhoring, you basically posted the same statement twice for no apparent reason. Again i mean no offense and although i got a couple of decent replies some one shut this down if this is all this thread is going to produce.

P.S. anyone know where i can get a super cool honda show car... i have changed my mind all togather i dont know what i was thinking, all i can think about now is nopi and HIN....its crazy :smash:

Oh man, I just got "OWN3D..."

... Wait, no I didn't... Fuck you and the horse you rode in on. I STILL say that your mind will be made by YOU and not what you draw from the opinion of what you present to an internet message board. I STILL say that you should do what you do and not rely on what other people think when it comes time to spent YOUR (or mommy and daddy's, if your living like that) money... I guess I should make it known that I got my first S-Chassis in March 2001, just before the realization that it was "the 'it' car of the moment," let us not forget that my desire for one came from farn before I was able to realistically get one and definitely before I wanted one to modify or do shit to one beyond wheels and a stereo. What more would we want to do with our cars when we were in high school in 1995? Next I need you to brush up on your spelling too (check 'Flagrant' please)
