Hey Folks,

I own a 1995 Nissan 240SX Zenki. It has an S13 SR20DET Black top, 5 Speed transmission, Stock Turbo/Exhaust manifold, Megan Racing dump and down pipe. Battery relocated to trunk, Wiring Specialties harness

I have installed an Mishimoto radiator with Dual electric fans. I am keeping the Zenki body style, So I would like something that will allow me to reinstall the OEM bumper (I am okay with adjusting fitment of the bumper as the body shop I use is owned by my Uncle)
I am unfortunately hindered by my geographic location though when it comes to mechanical shops that have any experience in SR20's or JDM tuned cars for that matter. If I had a 350 Chevy then no problem, shops out the wazoo for American muscle. (I live in the Maritime's of Canada)

My questions -
What Intercooler and piping do people recommend?
Are the Intercooler Pipe Kits different in anyway?
I have an S14 with an S13 motor does that create any changes?
I would like to keep the Budget under $1000 USD

Thanks in advance for your constructive input, Cheers

Powered by max high mount intercooler. Goes behind the radiator with shorter piping. I switched from an apex'i front mount, and it built boost faster

How long have you been running it? I like the fact that it fits so well. Looks nice and the prices are spot on.

I installed sometime around 2013. I don't drive the s14 a whole lot, but have had no problems.

You will need to run a S13 SR20 piping kit

why would you need an s13 kit? the piping lengths will be different...iirc the turbo is in the same location but the s14 would fit the body...PBM would work well, for FMIC check out ebay too...cores aren't the greatest but they work and get the job done...

I think I'll try out that powered by Max one and just cut and weld my own tubing

You need the S13 kit. The throttle body and compressor outlet are oriented differently on the S13 SR. Engine bay dimensions are essentially the same so the pipes are the same length regardless.

So I am thinking this is the right setup? I emailed PBM to get clarification. Waiting to hear back.

Before you order, make sure you are happy with your turbo choice and your intake.

I'm staying stock for some time as I plan on using this car as my daily while I finish my Datsun 720.

I went with an ebay piping kit and a mishimoto IC core on mine. It worked just fine. Given the popularity of the S13 SR's vs the notch backs, it shouldn't be hard to find the right kit for your setup.

Example piping kit link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/CX-Aluminum-Intercooler-Piping-Kit-For-Nissan-240SX-S13-SR20DET-Fits-G-Intake-/330955321969

The powered by max website's images were normally pretty good and can help clue you into differences that may exist on the turbo side of the engine. I know for certain the intake manifolds position the throttle body's in different location when talking S13 vs S14 SR20 variants.
