have any of you ever noticed that when you ride in a car it feels so much faster than when you actually drive it? ive had a couple times ( once in an sr s14 and once in an s2000) when they took be for a ride and i was like  , then when i got to drive them, it just doesnt seem as powerful. This is a stupid subject and a worthless thread, im just wondering if you guys have ever noticed that. :boink:

I used to think that until I drove my good friend's z32 tt a few times. It feels the same whether I'm riding or driving.....fast. I think it has more to do with knowing what is happening and what is going to happen while being a driver as opposed to being a passenger (shifting, steering, accel, braking...).

Yeah as a driver you prepare your self without even noticing it. While a passenger is, well just along for the ride ya know.

i hate being a passenger during any kind of hard driving. it's so scary.
there's one corner i could hit at 60mph, but i went with my friend once, and he hit it at 40mph and it scared the shit out of me. hahaha!
i hate not being in control. i dunno what he's gonna do!!

so true. Riding is soo much more scarier than driving, beacause you have no control of what's going on. You just have the trust the dude that he doesn't crash.

WORD, I had that happen a couple times when I couldn't help what the driver was going to do. I don't want to trust the driver when we go on canyon runs... lol

The best is being a passenger in the rain. I'm sure most of your cars handle like absolute garbage in the rain, like mine. So when I'm riding shotgun and my friend guns it around a turn in middle of storm, I grab for the nearest handle expecting to crash.

yeah its like riding on the back or a motorcycle, or dirt bike, or fourwheeler.... anyone who has let someone else drive on one of those knows the feeling.... its the ohhhhhh shit dont let them fuck up feeling.... and that translates into riding in a car with someone , but not so extreme.... it does feel faster as a passenger.

I must agree on all posts above. I hate being passenger in my car or any car... I feel scared at nothing, just because I am not in control. I rarely am scared when I drive though...

hehe i installed a oh-shit handled for the passenger, it came factory on the 180SX from japan and bolts onto the roof (a-pillar)

i get nervous when SOME friends drive. see, it all comes down to trusting the driver. when people get in the car with me, it takes time before i pull of my REAL stunts because i want to gain their trust.. if you dont, people wont be comfortable.

the same applies to me, my friends need to build up my trust.. some just suck and cant drive worth shit, while i have other friends i DO trust. afterall, they're playing with their life and yours, you'de better make sure you trust the person driving the car.
