Man, this is wierd. I was coming home from school about and hour ago and coming off a circular off ramp onto a straight road with no traffic. It was raining earlier and I just wanted to see how the car would accelerate. I was in 3rd and I gunned it. I rode up to about 4200rpm before I let off and upshifted. OMG. The back end kicked out a little bit, but it felt like alot. Didn't get sideways or go too far or anything. For a split second it felt like my backend was wierd, but I was being overly paranoid. I love this car, but this is the first time I have done something stupid in it.

I was in my PS13 in the rain once and I tried to do a little manji drift on a open highway, I figured why not since no one was around and it was at night. Well I found out that night that a mechanical LSD, with 17's on the front and stock 15's on the back with 200+ HP don't go too well in the rain. I came about a foot from slamming into a palm tree. I'll never do that again.

My dad has an IS300, Yellow, Manual. My mom and dad were out at some stupid ass thing they had to go to...and pops left the keys laying out...i...'barrowed' the car...and went to pick up a few friends...Since were not 16...we can't legally drive by ourselves (our Learners...bah...we have to be with a liscenced adult while driving)
So yeah...this was recently right? And in canada, theres snow in like, october...so its aobut November, snow covered roads, and i gun it as hard as i can...the tires spin a bit...but the car takes off relativly well...and im going i think about 70 in a City Street and this turn comes up...not many people around, so i just barly ease off accel and turn hard...the car totally spun out...
scared the shit out of me...I just spun out across 2 lanes...
but anyways...i almost fucking pissed myself...and when i got home...i spent like, half an hour checking the car for any damage.

sophomore year at college, about 3 months into getting my '97. Was still getting familiar with a RWD concept. right when it began to rain in West LA, I entered a rather tight turn on a very old CEMENT road (that's how old it is), and of course, it's slippery as heck, I downshifted thinking: "hm... I'm going too fast"... EEERRR. Luckily, no other cars were near, and the only injury that occurred was my pride, having come to an stop facing a middle aged female jogger safely on the sidewalk
you'd think I learn, last year, coming home at 3am, right when it begins to drizzle. On a fwy interchange (going southbound on the 101fwy into the North 405fwy which is a 270degree curve. in my sleepy-hollow mind, I thot: "hm... I'm going too fast"... and downshifted w/o heel-toe'ing, which I knew by then.
first time was embarrassing, second was just idiotic. well, I guess I was just sleep deprived and my safe driving mode wasn't on.

DOOFUS!!
Y'know, cement is better to drive on than asphault. Cement is water based, and will absorb water. Asphault is oil based, and repells it. New highway through town is cement.
Just thought I'd dispell that.
Go get your license before you drive
And no, I've never done anything stupid like that (cept mebbe forgetting the car was at idle and hitting the starter OUCH!!

I drifted unexpectedly (ya ya don't get technical about what drifting is) once when it was raining. It was a left turn at an intersection and my rear tires were bald (from too many 180 degree turns probably). The rear started sliding out so I countersteered and feathered the throttle, went sideways through the turn and then straightened out. Aaahh it felt like it was the coolest thing in the world! ^o^ So I tried it again later at another left turn but ended up spinning the car around towards the end of the turn and was facing traffic. Good thing it was still a red light for them so they were still at the other side of the intersection, and there were no cars behind me. Hehheh I'm not trying that again anytime soon. Yes it was dumb of me to try it with other cars around. I got lucky the first time so I thought I could pull it off again easily. Oh well. Next time I'll try at a parking lot.

hmmm wow this probably the stupidest post. I love drifting but I know the repercusions(spelling?) with it. I started drifting with a old civic hb pretty well setup. Your thinking drifting in a FF... bah at you cause it can be done but just not as long or accurate as a FR. I used to go two, three in morning practicing like no man. In about a 8 mnth period I rpl 5 rims, too many tires and my passenger side controll arm 3 times with little frame damage .... Well when I got my FR I spent probably 2 months in diff parking lots practing in dry and wet conditions. I still have a lot of skill to gain but im decent and I love doing cause its a great feeling of controll(when you have it atleast ). So boo at all you that dont understand and respect drifting....

I hate to tell you S13Grl, it is a 5 speed. But if it's a five speed manual or a five speed automatic remains to be seen.
hehe. i did somethin semi-stupid a while back. i was driving my friend's car with him in it and asked him, "hey!!! u wanna see a drift?!" he agreed to drifting so long as it was in a safe environment (or as safe as drifting gets). It took me a few tries before i got anything decent, and i didnt notice how loud it was. well anyhow, i didnt notice that this business was right next to the houses i lived in and someone actually stuck his head over a 12ft cement wall and started yelling at us in vietnamese about calling the police or something. so... we drove off hehe. luckily he didnt recognize me or the car when we went back to my house later to chill hehe.

I was on a highway in upstate New York and needed to make a U-Turn at a traffic light. As I approached the light, it turned yellow. With not enough room left for any sane person to make it, I punched my S13's pedal to the floor towards the light. Then, right before I was about to go through the light, I slammed the brake and cut the wheel sharp to the left. I wasn't turning sharp enough, so I floored the gas again and whipped the back around. I pulled maybe a 200 degree U-Turn, which was just fine because as I let off the gas a little, the car straightened right back. Ah, to only have seen the whole thing from outside the car. The three of us inside it loved it though. =)
