Suggestions for greddy oil pan..

Well..... I picked up a greddy oil pan from my friends shop.. Looks sweet and everything. The problem im seeing is that greddy put some retarded thread size in it and definitly wont match with my autometer oil temp guage.. I have already brought it into my machine shop, and have sat and thought about...
Here are my options:

Tap out one of the holes using the bottom of the thread as the lowest point making sure not to make the new hole too big so that it starts to hit the bottom point of the pan. (Might not of explained this right)

Tap a hole into the rear of the oil pan and risk having fitment problems with the oil sump.

Not install my guage..

Does anyone have any of suggestions or know anyone who has had a similiar problem and solved it some way..
I have full access to a machine shop and actually know what i am doing... :fawkd:


EDIT - The reason why i cant just tap the hole bigger without it being a big deal is because the auto meter guage probe has very large thread and the holes in the pan are near the bottom of the pan...

Buy a Greddy, HKS, Omori or Defi gauge. Far better than Autometer and the temp sensor threads right in without modification.

well are you sure that you have the right fitting on your gauge, I know that the block wont accept the gauge, I had to buy a 50 dollar adapter that adds 3 ports, but then I did buy the greddy pan and swore it fit, and even then u say it is much bigger, the difference between these 2 sizes were not much, just enough to piss me off and not work, so im thinking you are using the wrong adapter that came with the gauge, did u buy it used?.

Autometer uses the Imperial System, while Greddy uses the Metric system. No wonder it does not fit. However, they do make adaptors.

i have heard that the thread pitch and diameter are the same, but the difference is that japanese fittings are tapered in like this \_/ while stupid american ones are straight like this |_|. that explains why it would seem to fit for the first thread, but then get stuck after that.

however, if the size is way off, i agree that you may just be using the wrong adapter.

Get the adaptor man. That way you don't have to machine anything.

Yes, I know this.. but the probe of the guage wont even fit completey in the hole... And i dont wanna spend the money on a defi or greddy guage.. It will also look retarded with all my other autometer guages.. And in my opinion Autometer makes better guages then those companies.. I am using no adapters. There is one size that cant be removed on the guage.. I wish i remembered the size..
