S13 Rear Subframe Rust Repair

Hey guys,

I stupidly spent way too much money on a rotted out S13. Crackless dash, mint interior, 76k miles on an all-original motor, really nice paint, but it's totally rotted out right in front of the rear wheel on the driver's side (where the rear subframe mounts)

Does anyone have advice on replacing this? I've talked to a couple car restoration shops and most have said they wont touch subframe mounts...

Eventual plans are to drift this car, but keep it as more of a "daily drifter" - something I could slide but doesn't look insanely ratty.

What do you guys think? I'm prepared to spend some money to fix this

Pretty clean, I attached a few pics down below. It's not the nicest 240sx I've ever seen, but the rest of it is nice enough that I'd like to repair the rust if at all possible.

Unfortunately all floor pan pieces from the factory have long since been discontinued & stock long dried up. So you will need to find a very experienced and extremely capable fabricator if you want that car repaired which will not be cheap.

Could try finding a wrecked car with a good floor/rear section, find all the spot welds, drill them out & remove the floor pan pieces you need. Or the very least, cut out the sections you need & weld them in.

In situations like this I use an air needle scaler at the rotten sections since it'll literally poke holes through all the bad sections & once you do that to this car, you'd be surprised how big the holes grow & just how bad the sections really are.

man that's tough cause the exterior looks clean in the provided pix. it would probably be easier/cheaper to find a clean shell and xfer your clean stuff over.


the amount of time/money spent on fixing that will likely be more expensive than just getting a clean shell. it also looks like other underside areas of the car will need to be addressed too.


edit: just saw the vid. youre gonna need a new shell.

Here is picture of the rear floor section where the subframe mounts up etc... You would need a 75650 no questions asked. Odds of probability you'd also need both pieces of sec 745 as where 75650 would spot weld on, is most likely rotted away meaning there would be nothing left to attach too... Not to mention 75662/75663 etc...

Start searching for a donor car to remove those pieces from... Otherwise part it.
