Just bought a clean 95 240sx with a bad clutch, decided to do a complete engine overhaul. Long story short the rebuild is done but I'm having starting issues. Im gonna explain this the best I can. The car will not start, even with starting fluid,UNLESS, I unhook the fuel feed line from the engine, then I can get it to start with starting fluid. I can also prime the fuel pump and then unhook the fuel line and it will run for about 30 seconds or so till the gas is gone. It will NOT start unless the fuel line is unhooked from the engine, which sounds crazy I know. Flooding?? I'm lost.

Check your fuel pressure and that the injectors are firing properly (not stuck open)- Pull the rail and crank it over for a second and watch them spray. Double check your mechanical timing too. This should really be in the tech section.

Check that your fuel feed line isn't connected to the fuel return pipe, they could be backwards.

^ this would be my first guess. Don't kno how many times I've seen it happen but it's a lot.

Does the feed go to the back of the rail or the front?

+1 for you have your fuel lines swapped
I'm assuming that you have a dual cam KA?

Who knows who may have bent them previously, just switch them and see if it starts...
