man another damn 240sx got jacked again....this one was my friends one. the semi good news is that the cops actually found the car down in Chula Vista missing only the rims supposedly. anyways yea the rims were Black 15in SSR Formula Mesh and 15in BBS mesh. Then we check the car and the ppl jacked the suspension and switched his Tein HE's with Tein S-techs on stock struts....WTF is wrong with ppl.

people are just jealous. sucks to hear about your friends car but it happens all the time in sd. they can still bypass that kill switch if you put it somewhere where they can find it. happened to my cousin so yeah. hide it soemwhere.

11-01-2004, 10:38 PM
thats wack that they'd take the time to install a lower grade suspension after jacking the good one.

and a decent place to run a kill switch is off the fuel pump. it'll stump the thief longer than one off the ecu or ignition wiring

Dude it ain't got nothing to do with being jealous or hating... its goes like this:

Theif: Hmm, I am cheap/lazy/I know I can jack this foo's shit and get away with it, so I'mma go take it now.

Thats basically how it goes.

What you need.. is a good alarm, some boobytraps and a fuckin glock.

Then NOBODY gonna try and steal your car.

Or just garage it.

dude if you guys want to be slick install a relay for the fuel pump kill switch and the starter plus the power for ecu this trick will has them say fuck it takes forever for them to figure out and other way is to setup the cable that release the hood from the inside because they mostly grab it from bottom of the bumper and just pull and it will open with little snag........oh yeah be smart and setup two alarm sirens in the front and rear because if they cut one the other will still alarm.......................take it from do this and you will be okay This shit is gangsta style

alarms are a fucking joke. Nobody pays attention and good theives know how to disable them quickly anyways. The best way to keep your shit from being jacked is a quick release steering wheel. When I moved down here, I didn't think twice about getting one. Yea, there were other mods I wanted to do, but I wouldn't even have a chance to do them if I didn't have a car. hidden kill switches are a good idea too, as mentioned above.

11-01-2004, 11:52 PM
quick releases don't work when they tow your car away... / actually nothing works when that happens.. cept LoJak... or get a GPS tracking system in ur car and track it urself and do some hunting..

luisgonz
11-01-2004, 11:56 PM
ok yeah you say that good jackers disable them fast because as soon as you cut the power running into the alarm it shuts off working relay with the alarm dude iam really sorry to say iam good at what i do so take this and do good good so you will have your lady every day when you wake up..yes the steering wheel will work unless they study and plan greaT like the best.....i have and had to do hunting on my own for my cars and other people....i look for cars for lapd and give tips where to find them

Luis: LoJack have their own power source. Battery power is not necessary.

Can they tow your car if the wheel is locked all the way to the left or right?

luisgonz
11-02-2004, 12:17 AM
fro towing they use rollers and lo jack is a joke i worked for them for 5 months so i could get to know the system and setups . And you should take a bolt and put it in the slot hole in the disc brake disc so they try to push and it'll has them guessing for some time

11-02-2004, 12:19 AM
Luis, will you elaborate more on the relays/ kill switches for the fuel pump, starter, and ECU?

240Stilo
11-02-2004, 12:21 AM
Or a lock.

I have a quickrelease and kill switches, im still afraid for my car. I think my next mod will be a garage.

11-02-2004, 12:22 AM
dude...if you have quick release and they dont see the steering wheel. then theres not point of trying to take the car because u cant drive it!

well technically, if they had one too, they could just use theirs. Ball type is the most popular, which is what I have. I'm not sure if spacing between the balls is the same. would be good to know. But since most are knocoffs, I would bet they are all the same. So in that case (albeit very rare I would imagine) it would be good to have kill switches too.

dude iam listen to streets album and it grand......dude iam not going to give away there are underground links that show how to setup relays. If you can grab the concept of a relay your set.......dude i have had my car stolen a gun point and any where you can think look park it in a garage with alot of cars in the drive way

I have thought of a hidden switch. And also, having 2 set maps for the stand-alone. One is the map you spent your time tuning. The other is the one you spent 15min creating a bs map that has no chance of your car running. Have the shitty map to be the default, and a booting up password for your laptop, and will never have to worry about some one driving off with you life. Also, for the towing issue, just get the alarm sys with gps tracking, pay 10$per month for service, and you will be untouchable. This is being to paranoid, just use the diff map and password and you will be safe as a stone.

I don't have any personal experience with this, but if it works anything like the demo on the site, i'd be willing to get it. They used to sell only child locator watches, now they have a less goofy "phone locator"

Unlike lojack, you're the one who tracks your car down.

http://www.locate1.com/corp_home.htm

This is about 200 for the locator, and 20 bucks a month for activation.
Anyone know how much lojack is?

What would you say to the guy who stole your car when you got there? :axe:

I thought about this too.. they sell em everywhere now.. EBay being teh cheapest.. and almost all import online retailers sell em, esp the NRG brand.... WHy you shouldnt flood teh market with steering wheel quick release!!!!

Seriously, I don't know why people don't explore this option.

They sell "boots" for motorcycles, and people I know have made their own.. basically just something that locks through the front wheel and prevents you from rolling the bike away or just unbolting the front wheel.

think i agree with detachable steering wheel...

sure they can still tow away your car, but not every car theif has that resource and a modded car that might be worth jacking into might not be worth the tow.

just back your car in to make it more difficult to boost quickly.

lojack is like $1500 at least and good for the life of the car. no monthly crap. there are stories of cars getting stolen and the second owner who didn't even know it had lojack was surprised when they found the car DUE to the aforementioned lojack.

RAWK. i'd do it but doubling the value of my car with an ALARM kinda makes me sick.

yea thats true but if you have like an investment in your car like nitekids, you may want to look into something like that.

... and lo jack is a joke i worked for them for 5 months so i could get to know the system and setups . ...

Can you talk more about this?

I'm curious because i've heard other lojack customers complain of it's ineffectiveness.
eg. a friend had it installed and the installers put it under the driver's side foot carpet-extremely noticeable!

My Dad had that on his motorcycle.

...until theives broke into the garage and dragged the bike out with the lock still on.

well you cant exactly drag a car that easily

i'm kinda wondering why no one has mentioned additional battery mounting? use a relay to where the alarm ecu pulls power from the main battery unless that power connection is cut, then it begins to pull power from the additional battery; i mean shit you could hide the extra battery under the spare tire, under the carpet where the big bulky auto seatbelt crap goes, etc

i'm figuring nice aftermarket quickrelease with ballbearing design, fuel/ignition cutoff switch in a certain spot, and an alarm with remote battery that will dial a cell phone (or use a remote that can receive the signal)... leave the fuel/ignition switch on whenever you'll be nearby along with the wheel... and when you leave for a while you take the wheel and throw the switch...

I still have no clue why'd the thieves would risk replacing the stolen items with other items. One they could sell them, two they can somehow be used to determine who the thieves were, three the extra time involved.

Hopefully these were real crimes and not insurance claims in the making. They caught one dumbass here because he 'stripped' his truck of all his goodies the day before it was 'stolen' and driven into the lake down the street. His first story was they stole all his lights and stereo/wheels/suspension (4x4), which they thought was odd since the truck underwater had a stock suspension put back on it with nice factory alloys left on it, but when the insurance guy came to see him they noticed him loading all the stuff into another truck....he was later arrested and charged with insurance fraud. Truck was not covered and the sad part was his mom still owed 4 years on it.

this isnt an insurance fraud or anything....my friends complex sorta sucks. plus he's had back luck with that place. that's why his family is moving to the east coast.
but anyways those guys were so cheap that they ended up jacking the K&N drop in filter and the gas cap. Oh and they took some nuts and bolts....pretty sad IMO. if you jack that stuff then you know ur cheap.

i met a guy that had it set up so he could pull his ecu out everywhere anytime i think im going to do that somehow i like the boot idea though. the thing that bothers me about the pull off stearing wheel is that if they did do the resrch and got a wheel that fits and works then they spent money to steel your car imo if they want it bad enough they are going to get it, and ant much your gonna do about it.
