OK I was just looking around for my first car (yeah! Just turned 16) and I saw a used (I'm poor I know...) 1989 240sx for sale. Here is it's description:

5 Spd., looks and drives great, exc. cond., silver in color, 135,000 body kit, 16" American racing rims, Alpine system AM/FM cass., CD changer, exhaust, service records, 135,000, km. $3,995.

Now I was wondering is, should I get this? 135,000km for $3995 canadian... I need opinions on if I should buy this or not! Remember, this'll be my first car and I don't have too much money so... opinions?

Thanks to those who read and respond &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

Sound to be in better condition than mine. If you can, take it to mechanic and have him check it out. I bought mine with 150,000 mi for $1000 and its not in the best condition but engine wise its a ok.
Take it for a test spin, check for leaks, ask for maint records, find out the history of the car from the owner. Still feel weary of getting a high mileage car? Find some 240 buddies, they're usually nice guys willing to help you out.
on a personal note, I'd much rather try and find a 91-93 with the DOHC, but thats just me.

that's about 3000 in US$ right?? &nbsp; If it is, the price is a little on the high end. &nbsp; The price should be around that. &nbsp; Here're tips for you to bargain down the price:

check for shading differences between body panels, if there is, it more than likely been in an accident --> drop 500$
Check for tire wear, need new tires? &nbsp;-->drop another 200
find other flows with the car and you'll be in good shape.

Thats a pretty good deal, I have seen worse cars go for a lot more, Nissan 240sx's are probably 20-40% more expensive here then in the states, and if it has mods and is in good shape that is a pretty good deal. There are guys here asking 10g's for a 93 with 150k on it. And 135000kms (80k miles) is not a ton, my 97 had that many when I bought it and it purrs like a kitten. The only bad thing is that it's a sohc, but there are lots of fans of the sohc on here too... k not a lot, but some!
