Arm bolts

Hello.I am trying to replace all my stock rear arms with adjustable ones.I am from Midwest and all my bolts are seized in the metal bushings.have a feeling its gonba be a nightmare.I have kroil sprayed on and sitting.next going to heat up with propane torch.anyone have any tips tricks or seggestions for these pain in the butt 26 year old bolts?

Use short 6-point 1/2" drive sockets and breaker bar w/ "cheater bar" (long metal pipe basically) over your breaker bar for leverage. The right tools for the job is key, good luck

Yep. Michigander here. Give it everything you got the first time you go at it, so there doesn't have to be a second time.

Everything listed above is great advice. Try to shock the bolt with a BFH while you apply as much torque as you're comfortable with, get a friend if necessary. It's worked well for me in the past. Sleeved bolts are a bitch.

Hi guys thought I'd give a update.I ended up soaking everything in aerokroil penetrating oil.went out and spayed once a day 4 days in a row.then went back to trusty breaker bar method.as to my shock 4 of the 6 bolts I was trying to remove broke right free.didn't even heat up.never have I had such luck with a product like this!!!! Sadly I have one rubber bushing giving me hell that I'm going to try to melt out w/o burning my car to the ground.then I had one bolt someone had already rounded off for me.guess I'm going to try and fit a grinder in and go to town

Ive never used it, but i've heard ATF mixed with acetone is gods gift to penetrating lubricants.

I too have been meaning to try out the acetone/ATF trick.

For that rounded bolt, I've had good luck with these flower sockets or "bolt extractors" before.

Ya I'm gonna try and pick one of those sockets up tom.

As for the homemade penetrating oil any idea on mix ratio for that cocktail?. Wouldn't mind trying it lol

^those sockets mentioned do work well, I've always referred them them as strip sockets or twist sockets. In my opinion, the penetrating oil isn't the biggest factor, having enough leverage and torque is the key here. I've used kroil with success and liked it, but honestly, good old wd40 sprayed on 30 seconds before I stand on the end of my four foot steel pipe and jump on it has not failed me hahah nice work man, good luck with the last 2!!!
