Redtop sr20det runs completely fine on the stock ecu. I put a rs enthalpy ecu into it, 550 cc injectors, and a z32 maf. Getting code 55 on the ecu which means everything is good. The car idles at 10:1 or richer, breaks up under revs, wont rev past 3k sometimes, goes up to 5k sometimes. Any ideas? It ran fine before and it is tuned for stock timing and fuel pressure.

You should contact Martin. He is really responsive and is known for helping with diagnosis of these types of issues. There are several things you need to check and he has the list. Please email him at [email protected] or if it’s easier for you he also checks the FB messages. You may even get a response tonight.

Injector o-rings

It is most likely not the tune but something in the set up.

are you running the stock maf when you plug the stock ecu back in? could be the z32 maf

yes stock maf on stock ecu.

I took the maf out of the car, hooked it up with power ground and put my DVOM on the signal wire to test it. When I gave it air with my air compressor it was getting between .7 and 2v so it seems to be functioning.

hmm I had the injectors flow tested and the O-rings replaced

Did you get it figured out?

Did you get it figured out?

Not quite, the opposite actually. My car is now dumping smoke out of thr exhaust and my spark plugs are being soaked with fuel. Tomorrow im going to pull my fuel rail to see if any of my injectors are dripping

Z32 mafs could be wired incorrectly. His tune is picky.

Like others have said, email Martin. He’ll try to help you diagnose the issue.

Picky how? That the car is in good mechanical order before trying to tune the ECU? That's a pretty basic requirement for any tune. Whether it be a $500 chip or $3000 for a standalone + dyno time.

Make sure the flow going to the MAFS is good. I had very similar problems (Also RS Enthalpy Tune, 550cc injectors, and z32 MAFS)when the adapter between my MAFS and air filter cracked. If the flow is not uniform through the MAFS then it could send the ECU faulty readings. I chased that issue for longer than I would like to admit. Martin is very helpful.

Check your timing. Also double-check your TPS setting.

lol at blaming the box in the car

If you understand how a maf works, you would understand that out of the 5000-999,999 identical tunes that Enthalpy provided it isn't likely that he purposefully singled this one out and manifestedly corrupted the file somehow. And even if that were the case (corrupted file) how could you blame the human who attempts to install the file to the box? For it wasn't he who has ultimate control over whether that cartridge is going to work or not.

It goes like this:
MAF -> ECU -> Injectors

SO if you have a problem here at injectors, you work backwards from there, check the injectors. Make sure you have the right ECU. The right maf. Pressure test the system. Check the timing. Annnnnnnd... thats how simple these engines are
