i have a two week old paint job and with the current weather conditions and a couple of hard runs, my car needs a wash. I bought a few zaino products (along with some stupid expensive towels), including the wax and claybar, and i'm not sure how long i should wait to start washing, waxing, and/or claybaring the car. I've heard anything from waiting 3 months to waiting 3 days... you guys have any input?
all this body work stuff kinda makes me miss having a dented up multi-colored 240 :o

was the car baked or air dried?

it all depends on where you got your car painted. if they had a baking booth you're prolly golden but waxing it would be stupid right now. at least wait a month before you put swirls in your nice new paint job.

washing is fine just not hard scrubbing... and if you use a brush i'll hunt you down and introduce it to your lower intestine.

yeah, the car was baked. I wanted to wax it and all that jazz, thinking i needed to protect it from the rainy weather we've been having in the bay, but i think i might wait a little longer before waxing/claybaring it; the question is how long? and for those that have used zaino products... any tips?

makatos13: as far as scratching it with a harsh brush or chamois, i'm hoping i won't need to worry about it because of the super good quality, but expensive towels i bought at www.waynestowels.com

IF YOU WAX YOUR CAR YOU WILL PUT SWIRLS IN THE PAINT.

the best way to detail a freshly painted car is to not do anything until it needs it. it won't NEED it for like 3 months so don't mess up a perfectly good paint job with your overzealous bullcrap.

i haven't gotten around to getting any pics yet, but that's mainly due to me not having a camera and not knowing anyone with a digital camera... but i guess i'll wait to wax and just give it a light wash for now. i'm still wanting to hear from a few zaino users though, guess i'll alter the title a bit.
