Hi guys,
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, if so let me know miss thank you!

So I was offered a deal for an sr20 and wasnt planning on taking my KA out but I’m still debating on whether to get a new shell or removing my KA and selling it. The chassis has 114k miles and is finally where I want it body wise but I feel like I’d be losing a shit ton of money either way I build from shell or selling the KA. I just want to know how much you guys think this fully rebuilt KA motor could sell for. I’m nowhere near expecting as much as I paid since you can practically build a pretty decent sr20 but I’d love your guys’ input. I attached some pics to get an overview of what has been replaced.

Keep the KA, turbo, enjoy. You're only going to be more upside down on the car if you swap it.

You could likely have a t28 ka-t for around $1,000. Stock for stock, the internals are rated the same and a KA has more displacement. Kind've a no brainer, if you ask me.

Theres going to be far to many people on here that are either KA or SR. My 2 cents, the KA is bigger (obviously) and you can get more parts readily available at the local part stores. I understand we are in California so there are lots of shops and stores that stock SR parts but Im meaning if you needed a gasket, tube, whatever you can hit up the local Vatozone and grab something.

I feel a better questions is whats the purpose of the car? Track or daily?

Thank you for all your guys’ input, but as my main question as well, what do you think this KA would be worth to sell?

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay. It also depends if you did a stock rebuild or not.

Post up what you want for it or trade it for an SR.

Caveat: a lot of SRs are beat up to shit so keep that in mind when trading a rebuilt motor for a used unknown condition one.

You would be lucky to get someone to pay $500 for that motor with receipts of said work. I would start with doing some compression numbers to go with it. I wouldn't trade for any other engine, sell it and then buy the motor you want. On trades....someone is always the victor.
