I was invited to this bulletin board and its just getting started. I don't knwo if there are any m30 owners here, but there is not much information out there, so its good to have a central place we can go when we need help.

IIRC some of hte suspension parts can be transferred from S13 and i think it shares the same platform as a Z31 300zx a friend of mine has one i really like it just wish it was a manual

woohoo !!! ive only found a few facts on different forums about this car. there is a guy in san diego (on freshalloy or nico ???) thats putting an SR in one. when i get mine in december, i might do the same or try to install an RB in it. it has interchangeable parts with a z31 as far as suspension. theres more im sure but just got to search more. this car is known in japan as a nissan leopard. theres a member on here that has it on his sig but i dont remember who.

no, it doesn't share parts or chassis with z31.
The suspension from the z31 is different. the m30 uses coilover type rear with semi trailing arms, the z31 uses seperate coils and shocks. The fronts are actually pretty close but aftermarket struts for z31 will not fit m30.
I am converting mine to 240sx front suspension, I'm just trying to figure out how to do it and still keep my ABS. I also plan on adding a z31 turbo, a side mount intercooler, fmu, and 5 spd swap. but thats all in the future.
stock they suck, 4 speed auto, 160 hp/180 ftlbs of torque, 3400 lbs....
anyway if I ever get my s13 running I might be happy with the m30 as a daily driver and not want to mod it so much, so we will see.

so far I've posted up what I know, so if you want to discuss the m30 further, join the forum!
even if you don't own one it would be great to get some discussion going on.

could've sworn i read it somewhere but i guess im wrong. like i said though i still gotta do some researching. i want this for a daily driver so just suspension work and rims for now. the motor swap will come when the engine calls it quits just like my previous 240.

IIRC the M30 has a VG30 for a stock motor. The Z31 also has the Vg30 and I heard with little to no modification the VG30ET Bolts in, and with some minor modification the VG30DETT will bolt in. All M30's were automatic and came in either a convertable or hardtop. They are a pretty cool car I think they are called the leopard in JDM land IIRC but I might be wrong.

wow dude you are an encyclopedia of the obvious.
thank you.

the vg30dett won't bolt in with slight modification, but good luck trying. The vg30et will probably (almost certainly) hit the steering shaft on the m30. But you could get around that. Et would be an easy swap.

I appologize if I was being obvious I was just trying to help some people out with some basic knowledge of the M30 I am not an expert on the car and I appologize if I was incorrect with some of what I said.

sorry for being harsh, just figured that stuff was common knowledge (for example, how would you feel if I said that "the s13 240sx is rear wheel drive, 2 door, available in a coupe or a hatchback, and comes stock with a 2.4 liter four cylinder?"

that and you were spreading misinformation about the engine swaps.
