Ok, so we all know Photobucket did this lame ass bullshit last month, that has fucked up tons and tons of forums, by basically ruining every photo link that goes back to a photo hosted on their site.
now, there is a patch
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/photobucket-embed-fix/naolkcpnnlofnnghnmfegnfnflicjjgj
for CHROME only, obv
and you MUST clear your browser cache for it to work.
But for now it appears to be our salvation, since we all know that

yeah that works, but we have threads that go back over a decade, and IG wasn't really around then. Photobucket still stands as the host for the bulk of the pix on this forum (and tons of other ones)

You are exactly right. Been on here for awhile but I never got into the whole photobucket thing. But I am glad that there is a fix .. yay for the old ass build threads that go back into the time when I first wanted a 240.

Its really crazy how much Photobucket was used. There are grey boxes everywhere. Every time I look for a write up, pics are gone. I may have to look into this. Photobucket will probably catch on and squash it.

for all of those looking for a new photo hosting service, I would use flickr.
it takes a little bit of getting used to where all the buttons and everything is, but its worth it. I still cant believe photobucket pulled this ish.

Imgur has been my go to hosting site. Never really used photobucket. I am surprised by the amount of people who did use photobucket. Especially recently.

If only there was somebody with the computer power to be Zilvia's personal army, and save/archive them into a photo dump thread :naughty: ... that would be nice. I don't have the skills or technology to pull this off. (or time and stuff)
Lots of important INFO could be saved! screw photobucket.
Think of all the Builds. DIYs. Graphs. Charts. Cosmetics. Style. Zilvia. DIWs!
Sorry don't flame me for sparking ideas. Zilvia scares me lol, vicious. :hs:
FLame on!

So I just noticed that a majority of previously-dead thread photos are now showing up again. And this is in regular old IE with no plugins or workarounds.
Did something change or get fixed?

Well my old build thread has pictures again and they are hosted on Photobucket sooooo it looks like something happened. I am seeing some that are still popping up saying you need the special service to embed them though.

I never could do the Chrome extension workaround since I have to use IE at work lol. Got used to never seeing pictures and now I see them [emoji5]

Wanted to bump this because photobucket sent me an email that all images above my bandwith limit will be watermarked until I pay up.

we've been seeing that, and also, a lot of photos that are hosted on photobucket only show up as SUPER low res images, super pixelated. Like the image only loaded half way.
fuck photobucket. :wackit:

A somewhat temporary fix that you need to manually do.
Taken from another forum
"
: replace the leading "i" in the URL with "w", and you get a viewable image without watermark or blurring.
How Photobucket stays in business is beyond me...
eg: http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb21 ... OH-58D.png
vs.:
