Okay, so i bought and rb25 neo s14. Car came with a precision 5431. Shitty part was i only got to drive it part of the way home before it threw a rod....how exciting right!
Anywho, i never got a chamce to see how well this turbo behaved, and wanted to see what input i could gather from here.
Currently redoing my setup with a new rb25 neo engine with typical bolt ons..
Tomei poncams
Full 3" turbo back
Mishimoto fmic (will be changin to pbm hmic)
Right now stock topfeeds
Pte 5431 .48AR with tial 38mm external gate
Greddy intake manifold

Thats just the quick rundown. Wanted to see from experience what you guys think about how this turbo may respond, power output etc...
Im afraid the .48 ar housing will be too small. Ive been an SR guy and just got into the RB scene. Been reading on all the forums but no one really seems to be running this turbo.

That's an insanely small turbo setup. the 5858 with a .64 or .82 housing would be a much better set up.

Way to small for a RB.

Its not even that the turbo is small 5431(good for 500hp) is about the same size as a 2835, dude that back housing will choke the 6 cyl and not make any power past 6k not to mention that 38mm might not keep the boost creep from the insane amount of back pressure it will create due to the smaller housing.... get a .82ar housing and you'll spool that bad boy with supporting mods at 14psi 3500 full boost not to far off from that!

Here is a T518z 10cm (50mm)turbo (roughly 71 ar )Which is a WAYYY smaller turbo than the 5431 (54mm) and it does perfectly fine!

Right on, well precision has an option .63 housing i can get and swap on. Im looking to get the engine to the 400hp mark or 450. So, i was right about the housing being way to small though. Well maybe I'll go ahead and get the .63 housing and see what happens.

Honestly with the PON Cams the Neos have a higher lift than all of the RB25 pon cams since its got solid lifters like its big brother the RB26... that being said with the .63ar it might be violent with the throttle response my buddy had a TD06-20G with a 8cm housing .57 ar roughly on a RB25det and it was almost unpleasant how responsive it was just spun.....

Waahhh! Really!?!? Hmm......well hell im not all about that violent throttle. My previous setup with my sr20 and a forced performance big28 upgrade was perfect throttle and spool.
Again, im new to the RB game so i havemt found the perfect combo for my daily driving. I really appreciate the input guys
