A friend of mine has an 08 6MT G37 Coupe, its quiet and comfortable even with a full exhaust and coilovers. I've driven it a few times and it feels a lot like my old 350z, could see myself driving one if I didn't have 2 cars already.

How does it compare say to an SR 240 in terms of power?

How does it compare say to an SR 240 in terms of power?

In terms of power its nothing mind numbing, a 300whp SR would destroy it. The torque makes it really easy and smooth to drive, but its weight really holds it back. I'd say as a daily the power is enough to be fun, but if you are looking to hoon around, its pretty boring.

I owned a G37S Coupe for about 2 years, and came from previously dailying a KA-T S14 that made about 230whp, an SR S14 that made about 300whp, and a stock GS300.

My take on it, all around its a decent car, the brakes were good, the car handled pretty good out of the box (mine had Tein springs on it when I bought it), the power is pretty decent (enough to have fun but not to be insanely fast), its not the greatest on gas (averaged about 20-21mpg with mostly highway driving).

If you throw a little bit of money at it and do some high flow cats, exhaust, intake, and have it tuned you can pick up some pretty decent power, most seem to make about 290-320whp depending on exact mods.

I bought mine with 23k on it, and my issue with it was that even with low mileage and being relatively new, the leather was already getting dry and it just did not feel as good as my lexus, nor did it seem to be holding up better even though the Lexus was a full 9 years older with 150k more miles. Also every time I parked the car I would use my window visor, crack the windows, and also the windows were tinted, but my dash still cracked (very large crack around the gauge cluster surround, which is a pretty common problem in G's)

All in all I think its a pretty fun, pretty well rounded daily driver, its just a let down that on a 7 year old luxury car the interior was already getting to be pretty worn, the dashboard cracked, and there were some misc creeks/rattles that werent there in my 18 year old lexus. The other major issue seems to be depreciation, the Infiniti line just doesnt seem to hold value well, so if you can get a G pretty cheap and want a fun but still relatively practical car I say go for it, but if your buying a low mileage car used from a dealer for 18-20k, expect it to be worth about 10-11k after a year or so of driving.

ive driven 1000s of them in all variations. if you want the best G37s get the 2013 model ( bluetooth connectivity is the best outta of the older models BTW) thats the last year they made manual Four door, and the best configuration of the four door, the 2014 Q60 was the last year they made manuals Period with a new revamped look. Still think the four door felt better more stable but rev hang is something that i didn't like at all and both have it.

Other than Bluetooth what makes the 2013 better than the 2014?
