View Full Version : MAF wire??
i have a redtop motor. Where does the black with white stripe wire of the MAF hook up to? a constant 12 volt (any source) or does it have to be hooked up to the ecu for power somehow? Thanks.

Dont you have the SR harness? just cut the clip and extend the wires. Also what MAF are you running? If its a 89 SOHC the wires line up perfectly.
I'm just wondering because when i checked the voltage with the black/white stripe wire with the ground wires on the MAF i get 10.55v. when i checked my brothers car also a redtop i got 11.55v. so i was wondering where is this power source coming from to the MAF. im trying to trouble shoot this studdering problem i get at 5K+rpm thats why i'm doing this. Thanks! any other help would be greatly appreciated.

you may have a bad ground, try running the black wire off of the MAF to a ground on your intake manifold or something, see if you get better results.
the black and white wires i tested its continuity with the ECU harness terminals and there is continuity. so i think the grounds are where its suppose to be... so is the black with white stripe wire (power wire) coming off of the battery or the ecu? anyone know? Thanks statik for ur help so far.
EDIT: i also found out that at the ECU harness side, the only other black with white stripe wire is for ECCS power. Meaning the black with white stripe wire coming from the MAF - is that tapped into the ECCS power wire at the ecu?
