Greetings and salutations,
My name is Dan and I'm from Florence, Alabama which is near the Huntsville, Birmingham area. I recently got back into 240's and I wanted to document the build on the car and showcase it along the way for anyone who cares to see. When I was younger, I used to read the build threads and get pumped up about doing things to my cars and what I wish I could do but I wasn't in a financial state to where I could maintain a car build so I never accomplished much but things have changed now and I've accomplished some career goals and I'm ready to build another car.
A little background within my 240 happenings, when I was 16 my 1st car was a pearl white 95 s14 and it was coolest thing since sliced bread. My mother had bought it when I was 15 to commute back and forth to work and I requested it when I got my license, I drove that car bone stock until it started giving some motor issues given it had a lot miles on it at that time. I got another vehicle which was a 2wd ford ranger and drove that for a while until a friend of mine at school put his 96 red s14 up for sale and I wanted to get back into 240's so I worked out a deal with my parents and we bought it. It had 96k miles, spec flywheel and clutch, j30 diff, megan exhaust and some lowering springs along with some cool wheels, this was back in like 2005 lol. I drove that car for a long time until I wrecked it and sold the chassis to a friend of mine, It was a sad day but at the same time I was ready to venture into the SR world so I found a 95 s14 with a redtop SR making about 300hp and I bought it however I wrecked it being dumb shortly after so I was on the hunt for a shell to swap my motor into and luckily I found another 95 s14, at a local car buy here pay here lot, that had a blown up KA, so I purchased it and did the swap and made that car last. I ended up needing a better daily for my job at the time so I did some trading and let her go, the dude blew it up a week or so later and I did some haggling and got it back with the blown motor, swapped in a KA and had some fun with that but sold it later on. I ended up finding my red 96 somewhere along the way also and bought it back and sold it to a friend, somewhere in that time era I bought 3 more and sold them down the road but anyways, fast forward going a while without one I decided i'd do a legit build and bought a 92 coupe and started working on it, I bought an complete LS1 swap out of an 02 trans am for 2500 bucks from down in Louisana, actually found it in the classifieds here on zilvia but that was before LS swaps got mainstream but I had a change of heart and traded it for an RB25 swap because that was where my heart was. I started building on that motor but some life events happened and I decided I needed to focus on other things so I sold the project. I eventually got into racing cross country on a trx450r, I got the quad already built and started enjoying that but then crossed over to dirtbikes and had a few of those while racing cross country or harescrambles as some call it. 5 years since I sold the 92 rb25 project, I'm back at it with the another 92 rb25 project.
This project is going to last a year or more and I plan to be very detailed with the progress, so far I'm in the tear down stage and once I get the chassis prepped, I will be building it back up. .
The day I brought it home, found it on facebook and purchased it for 400 bucks. It's crappy and an utter mess but perfect for what I want to do with it which is bring it back it from the grave and make it something worth having.

I gave it a quick wash before I put it in the shop, washing it didn't do much for this turd but atleast I tried.

As you can see, this car really sucks but it motivates me to do something with it. I guess it was someone's "drift car" but its a pile of shit, i hope whoever modified this thing this way sees this post and finally realizes how much an idiot he/she is. Anyways, the build theme is a fairly dedicated track car, I've had wreck less driving tickets in my earlier days so I'm wanting to stay out of trouble and have fun at the same time.
So fast forward several weeks, I did what I really wanted/didn't want to do..I put my bike up for sale to fund some 240 things. I built this bike up and its been a blast to own, so much attention to detail went into this thing but now its time I lay this hobby down to rest and pick back up on what i should had been doing all along.

I had no problem selling the bike, took about a week. I sold it on a Saturday night and sunday i already had my mind up on what i was going to do. I had been following a sale post that came up on the book of face and luckily it hadn't sold yet so i made contact with the owner sunday morning and i was on the road to Titusville, FL by 9am to pick it up. However, bad luck struck around 6hrs into my trip when my water pump took a shit on me. Its a sunday evening, no repair shops are open and that's just my kind of luck but luckily i found a repair/tow truck business 10 miles away and they came and rescued me. I stayed over night and was on the road by 11:30am the next day.

I finally made it late Monday night and i crashed, woke up the next day and unloaded the goods and got it all settled in.

What a beauty right?? I'm stoked and more motivated than ever right now. Its a built up bottom end Rb25 with a GT3076R, 850cc injectors, nistune and other nic nacs but its gonna be just right for what I'm trying to build. I bought a turn key swap, I have everything to drop the motor in my car right now. I got compression vids and street runs to show it was healthy, it was pulled the same day i was supposed to get there to see it. All in all, it should be a solid situation. I'm not thrilled to be running the factory manifold, I'd much rather have nice quality top mount on there but it runs in current state and I'm gonna leave it alone until the chassis is done.
