So I just got back from a party and to my surprise I notice my passenger door is bent completely in and the lock cylinder has been screwd to hell. I guess some "cool" college guys thought it'd be fun to take a blunt object and smash my passenger door up. So now the door is bent in around the door handle and the lock can't stay locked (luckily it still closes shut).
Why are there people like this in the world who would do senseless damage to a perfectly nice car? I just can't understand what was going through there minds when they decided to take like a hammer to the outside of my car? They DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO BREAK IN!!!!!! ::sigh::

This is the 2nd time in 3 years that my hatch has been messed with (both times passenger door). I just can't stand or understand these people anymore :\

I live in a decent area btw, the type where you can leave your car unlocked overnight in your driveway, or if you are just quick runnin into gas station.

anyways walk out of wendy's and notice my drivers door is open, so I'm like shit must have forgot to close it for some reason, walk over, get in the car, and as I do notice the guys that are walking past the car one breaks off and walks over to my passenger side door and gets in and pulls a little 1.5" pocket knife on me and tells me to give him all my shit, his door is still open at the time. and the keys are in the ignition so I just look at him, smile, and continue what I was doing with starting the car. my door is shut. so I pull out of the spot, floor it to about 20, slam on the brakes and cut the wheel, because his door was open his seatbelt wasn't back, and when I hit the brakes he slammed forward and then when I cut the wheel because he was off balance I just shoved him out of the door, then ran over, stepped on him to keep him still, and called the cops. then put him into an armbar until the cops got there and arrested him, then i woke up.

actually I kind of want that to happen because I think it'd be cool to do the vigilante justice. but at the same time in real life he probably would have stabbed me.....

All the more reason to not advertise what you have and to never park it in a public place. Going to any kind of import car show/meet/event is just asking for someone to follow you home and vandalize your car. Kids today have no respect for anyone else's property, that's why they loot and steal too. Malls, movie theaters, restaraunts, etc. are aslo an invitation. Someone out there is bound to be hurt/upset/pissed/jealous no matter where you go, so don't go, take another car, or park it in plain view under a big ass light and keep watch on it. Luckily my only attack was a kid broke into my old Altima, ripped the faceplate off the radio and broke the dash, but it wouldn't have happened if I hadn't been to the mall earlier that night and showed my stereo off to some friends. I don't even drive into my neighborhood anymore if there's a car behind me, no reason to lead them right to you. Chalk it up as a learning experience, because that's all you can do now.
