I have an ls swapped 240 and looking for recommendations on the best cooling fans. Currently I'm running a mish dual 12 inch slim fan and shroud set up but I don't think it's working as the temps don't move at all when I activate the fan. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My friends run flex-a-lites. Also get a lower temp stat

Anyone running Lincoln/Ford 18/17 inch single fan and shroud? I hear they pull approx 3k cfms

My vert is not running yet but that's my setup so I'd like to know if it's effective

The Lincoln/Ford fan is a beast but it has a large footprint to fit between fan and accessory drive. I used the Mishimoto Setup and was having cooling issues which were traced back to the fan setup. I swapped the Mish Fans (not knocking them as the setup was bought second hand) out for the Altima fans and never had an issue. I used a sealant for the fan shroud to close any gaps between the fans and rad.

This round I have a Griffin Setup with custom Derrale Single Fan which has been working well for some of my friends setups. Also setting up an Oil Cooler Setup for my next build.

Also, try using a good Low Temp Thermostat...might help maintain the setup cool.

Thank your for taking the time to leave detailed info. May go over to the dual spal 11 inch high performance set up.

Dont ask me how but I managed to fit a set of infamous altima fans between my 5.3 and the OEM, uncut radiator support. yes it barely touched the crossover exhaust tube and yes I had to remove some of the wrap from a small spot. and yes its still approx 0.1mm away from the PS pulley, water pump pulley, but it FITS GOD @#)(*@# IT!!!! lol

Im going to move it forward by cutting the support of course, and re-weld the lower positions an inch forward so the whole thing clears by at least 1" all around. Let me just say that they work FABULOUSLY and are only $75 shipped on ebay. I run one of them on LOW and it keeps the $89 ebay aluminum radiator standing on the thermostat opening point at 183-185*F in the high noon, 97*F Florida traffic. AND I have the trans cooler in front of it., which it ALSO keeps cooler than 180*F.

care to post of a photo of this s13 ls1 n-flo radiator? the only koyo n-flo radiator i know of is for the sr20det because the inlet and outlet of the radiator are on opposite sides. the ls1 needs them on the same side unless you include some pipe to bring it over to the passenger side

Sorry to bring this up, but the koyo aluminum performed terrible on the infamous fan test. everyone knows about the fan test right? Someone post the thread pls I lost it....
its where we all learned about the altima fans in the first place.

here we go

airflow through the koyo was the worst of all radiators tested

"1.) It was proven that the most cost effective solution for an overheating SR20DET is an upper radiator ducting panel (which typically sell for $80-$200) and a lower ducting panel (ala bottom OEM plastic undertray panel). With regards to fans, the Altima fans will outflow almost anything commonly available on the market. That is pretty good considering that they typically cost between $50-$100 a pair. "

The Koyo aluminum or any larger capacity aluminum radiator is still probably better than stock plastic, but I think there are better options out there.

Pretty sure the Koyo tested back then were single pass. The new one Touge is talking about is a dual pass and if I am not mistaken, also a more efficient design.

@Always...no problem man. More than glad to provide my experience with different setups. I also had the Altima Fans fit between the Mish Rad and Vette Accessory Drive. The Vette Acc. Drive provides a little more space between the block and Rad/Fan. CTSV Acc. Drive would provide the most amount of space between the two.

It does make sense there would be updated designs, that test is very old. Cost of materials changes and manufacturing processes change, all kinds of things change over time. When i do a swap I use the cheapest radiator first, because I know I will be throwing it away after about a year, thanks to all the crap i usually find in a used engine's cooling system. By the time I've flushed everything out like a mad man and gotten the water to stay looking like water, the radiator is usually lookin pretty terrible. So I swap it out for a new one THEN I "do it right" with a little bit of coolant (85% distilled water 15%~ coolant (it never freezes here)) and it stays looking good forever. Until then I keep 100% distilled so I can flush whenever and wherever I want.
