So with the engine/trans I recieved, the shifter came without the shift knob and it had the rest of everything. It came with a snap ring that goes in the groove when the shifter is in place. I'm not sure if the ring that came with it is original or not but when I put it in the groove I can do it by hand without compressing the ring and it fits in the grove then after moving the shifter a little bit it comes out of place. Does anyone know a part number or can i get another one of these snap rings at any parts store? it seems smaller than it should be the way it comes out of place.

There are 2 different snap rings needed. Sounds like you need the one that holds the shifter cup in place, which is the first part number below.

RING-SNAP CONTROL LEVER - 32204-V5004

RING SNAP - 32204-V5003

i see that makes sense then, i had a feeling something was either missing or this was the wrong size. You wouldn't happen to have pics of how it all goes in place do you?

if you take a picture of the bits you have I will tell you if you are missing any bits.
