What's up guys just wondering how I would check my Rod's and pistons easily? Blacktop Sr20det, I was told they were forged eagle/cp ask tomei cams. I have confirmed the cams but I need to determine the bottom end? Can I just pull the oil pan to take a look or maybe look through the spark plug holes for stamped? Any help would be appreciated!

Crank up the boost until it blows and report back

Typical sr/240 owner lol nah the engine looks good and has good compression I don't want to blow this one just yet 😂

No to be a dick, but a lot of questions you have asked could have easily been answered if you just spent the time with a FSM.....or a search engine
This is not one of those questions however.
If you want to confirm what is in your engine, you need to pull the pan or tear it down. You can use a colored boroscope or some optics for example to get into the spark plug hole (but that can only tell you so much as if the vendor decides to not put any identifiers on the piston, you are SOL)
Either way, you still would have no idea what rods, bearings, machine work, wrist pins etc is done, which his much more important than some numbers on a piston.

FTMFW. Seriously
Either way, if it blows up or not, you will be pulling the engine down to determine what exactly is "forged"........ So crank it up and sail.

Yes you are absolutely right I have since my first posts searched and learned a ton more and don't rely on new threads as much but as you said this is just a kind of oddball question but thank you for the answer I'll have to look into pulling the pan of the spark plug deal. To be honest I'm just really trying to get a ROM tune on this thing JWT/Enthalpy but it's somewhat difficult not knowing the internals and compression.. but I'd like to just go ahead and buy a ROM tune for a Sr20det with typical bolt ons, stock maf and injectors, tomei pon cams and 10psi t25 because I know that's what I have for sure. I need to figure out if it does indeed have different pistons and Rod's if the ROM tune will be sevirly affect.

It's a built motor with a t25 and stock maf? That doesn't make sense... you can always put the motor at #1 TDC and CC the combustion chamber with like 30 wt oil to find out the compression.

Never does, I see so many cars with "built motors" that have stock everything bolted to them... Can't trust 240 kids :ugh:

pop the pan off and the oil baffle, you'll be able to see with a flashlight.

You are right I talk to the previous owner and he said he had a big too mount turbo setup but you can't trust that. That's why I'm wanting to figure it out. But it really doesn't make since about why he would put a stick maf/injections back on it.

I have to remove the entire pan to get to the baffle correct? And lift the motor up to get it out

I think he was referring to just the lower pan and its baffle.

The baffle is connected to the upper pan, but you do not have to remove the upper pan to get to the baffle.
The order of removal ------------->
Lower Pan--------> Baffle------------> Oil Pickup----------> Upper Pan
Just do the first two.

stock pistons have 52c or something like that stamped into the top of them they are also dished. if they are clean you will be able to see this with a bore scope.
