Im purchasing a set of 16x7.5 front wheels and 16x8.5 rear wheeels for my stock fendered s13 hatch. I was curious where i could get the exact tire specifications so i can decide what size tires to get. I dont want the sidewall bulging over the rim, but i dont want it stretched d1 style (they're only for street), i was thinking something along the lines of 225/5o/16 (or perhaps 225/45/16? any input) and 235/5o(or 45)/16 in the rear. These wheels will sit flush in my fenders (22+ /37+) so i can't use too big of a sidewall. Any pictures/input or links to exact tire specifications would be greatly appreciatead. Thanks- Rob

Go to tirerack.com, discounttire.com, any other online tire sales place. Shop by size, input rim width. It'll give you 3 sizes, the middle one is recommended.
This isn't rocket science.
225/245 sounds right though. I'm by no means a tire guru, so check online before buying.
I have an 8" wheel with a flush 245 on it up front.

I have a 16x7 and 16x8 and run 205/55 in front and 225/50 in rear. These sizes will work fine on yours too but stretched a little. You're a little wider so maybe a 215/(45 or 50) in front and a 235/45 rear would be about right. Maybe even a 225 front and 245 back but that might be a little too wide and rub with stock fenders. It will give you a wider contact patch and more grip if you can fit it. :)

Kosei K-1's/Buddy Blub P-1's????
Why +37 and not +27?
Anyway, since your worried about clearence, and with the +37 being kinda high.....you could start with smaller sizes and then go bigger the next time (if you looking for more traction) I'd say 215's up front and 235's in the back too start with. That might be even a little big depending on camber, coilovers vs shock/spring combo etc....

225 50 front
245 45 rear
Stock Z32 sizes, for the same dimension wheels.
All these funky 215 an 235 sizes people are mentioning are going to cost you more because they are not too common. Stick with what's available and works.

Looking around, the 215/235's won't cost more but unfortunately a lot of the tires don't come in those sizes....
Anyway, why a 50 up front and 45 sidewall in the rear?? I've seen others do this but never understood why.

the 45 and 50 is figured with a percentage of the overall width so a 215/40/x has a much smaller sidewall than for ex a 255/40/x

245/45 = 110.xx mm sidewall
225/50 = 112.50 mm sidewall
That's why this is done. The 245/50 would be 122.5mm sidewall, with the tire being nearly 1" taller overall.
