Hello people I sent a question on the position of #1 cylinder as it looks without head, doing a head gasket now on KA24E and turned crankshaft couple of times to clean cylinders and oil cylinder walls. I just want to confirm that # 1 cylinder should be at vert top of engine block

TDC = #1 cylinder at the top of the cylinder on the inlet stroke.

Is that the same as # 1 cylinder at very top of block or engine

Every cylinder has a "TDC". Piston at the top of it's stroke, as high as it can go.

TDC#1 is just that... on the first cylinder...

Thank you so much that makes total sense, very easy in those terms I've had to pull my top end off ( water issue) so we did head gasket checked everything, oil not grey or foamy hopefully it's not my front cover ! You can still get those new if you want on a KA24E SOHC THANKS AGAIN
