Hey guys, would like to get the lowest noise exhaust, sr20det

which would be the best an Apexi Noir, 2.5in BRM with high flow cat & 18" res, RSR ex mag with a high flow cat, anything else or just go custom?

what do you guys think is the lowest Db exhaust :tweak:

But you wont be able to hoon with a quiet exhaust?? You need a super loud one that sounds like a tractor....

anyways, I always read HKS sport exhaust. There is a few videos showing it idle and what not seems pretty timid.

I fitted a twin exit exhaust with a magniflow resonator.

Looks stock flows great.

Go to a local exhaust shop they can make it up in 3" or 3.5

If you really want to get your exhaust quiet get any exhaust and go to a muffler shop and have them add long resonators.

Ex. my JZX100 straight pipe was very loud, went to my muffler shop, he charged me $60 out the door to add a 18" resonator and the sound went down by 30%

Or you can add another straight through muffler and lower the sound even more. It still sounded good when I revved it.

The one with the most mufflers and smallest piping.

stock exhaust supports 260rwhp

no need to upgrade until you pass that

cheaper route is ISR megaphone, or anything that has a proper muffler.

I agree I have a HKS sport on my 14 with the rb25 and it is so quiet. Don't even have to worry about cops its great.

Ive run the Nismo on my old S15, very quiet and flowed very well. Second to that I also ran Silent hi-power HKS system on the S14. But with the HKS I had to make some changes to the acceleration map as it was robbing a bit of HP.

I'm assuming you mean it bottlenecks after that point for peak power. But that's not the whole story. I noticed a huge improvement in turbo spool by going to a larger exhaust.

umm, stock? yeah stock.

So quiet that I sold it for a ebay 3" set up.

Exhaust manifold makes a big difference with SR sounds too

Apexi noir here. The bigger the piping the louder the exhaust will be. muffler designs will also affect sound.

I've done a fair amount of testing using a cut-out on the stock exhaust. There is something to be gained by reducing exhaust restriction, up to a point, when using a small t-25 style turbocharger. The optimal point was with the cut-out only partially open, around 20% of a 2.5" cutout.

A sweet blend of good exhaust velocity and overall flow capability is necessary.
