Hello fellow 240sx enthusiast my name is Nick , I recently bought a ka24de from a s14 it has wiesco pistons and eagle rods and was completely rebuild by the previous owner , I did the swap on my 93 s13 with had the dohc, and I'm done with the swap now and I go to fire it up after checking compression and timing marks from crank to the camshafts and the distributor and they are all on point , recently cleaned the tank and blew and the fuel lines with the compressor and I check the ecu it gave me error code 55 which to my knowledge means ( no problems ) but it doesn't run. I checked for spark and pulled the fuel rail and I have the injectors spraying and I have spark , this thing has me stumped. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.thanks

double check timing. its REALLY easy to have the distributor 180* out.

what are you using to check spark and injectors? noid lights or just visual?

will the car start on carb spray?

have you done a compression test?

It will start up but not run on starter fluid but the rotor is pointing at #1 when I put it at tdc and as far as the injectors I pulled them from the rail and they spray and the plugs as well are sparking but yes these are only visual tests

Would it be a fuel thing then, since it fires on starter fluid

When I let the fuel pmp flow out of the filter to check for fuel , it looked like green tea , idk if that would affect anything but I did drop 4gallons of 89 in after I dropped the tank

was your car sitting for a long period of time???
fuel should NOT be green. I'd siphon that tank and start fresh.

I'll flush it again , I just went to the gas station and got me fuel the tank does have a green tint to it compared to the fresh from the station. I'll pump it out and get more new gas and see if that helps , could that really have an affect on it starting like that ?

When you pulled the fuel rail where all 4 injectors firing at the same time? They should be while cranking!

Your fuel should look more like ginger tea....

x2 on flushing the tank. If it starts with starting fluid (and sounds healthy) it's not getting the appropriate amounts of fuel.

Your pump can still feed fuel to the injectors, and you'll visibly see them firing like you said, but the amount of fuel coming out can be weak. If your green tea flush is inconclusive, it may be helpful to check fuel pressure to rule out the pump.

Perhaps you should also pull the fuel pump cover in your trunk and verify that there isn't anything funny brewing in there... Gunk in your tank will not make the KA happy.

Ok I got it to run it requires a timing light and a few adjustments with the distributor , but now it won't idle by its self and when I make it rev up it dies out when it hit past 3k any suggestions?

Can anyone send me pics or have an idea where all the s14 ka24de vacuumes go?
