Looking good man, keep it up!!!
Just a heads up, I fabbed up similar pieces for the strut towers and ended up having to modify them so the fenders would sit strait. Also I'm pretty sure those megan rods are toe arms not tracrion rods.
Anyway, looking forward to more updates!!

Everything is looking great so far, but I have a question. Why does it seem like the black paint doesn't go far enough into any of the places where other panels bolt to? For example, in this picture:
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161017/c4b22747c9b7ecedcfc006aa0a74203a.jpg
You can see the white all around the light. It's driving my OCD crazy. Other than that, this looks like a very awesome build, and I can't wait to see all of these cool parts come together.
I have always loved period correct "JDM" style builds, and I am excited to see where this one goes.

Okay, but I pointed out a legitimate safety concern. If you shred a tire and have it flopping around at 60 mph wheel speed against sharp edges they're going to become projectiles. Fast moving, hot, wire reinforced projectiles that have the possibility of coming into the cabin. I don't care what's cool in Japan, or anywhere really we're telling you to seal them for legitimate reasons. You wont lose any kind of functionality or scene points for doing something properly. Also if I saw that kind of shit while going over your car in tech I'd send you home to read your magazines and play Forza.

I agree, I AM sealing off the front part like I previously stated... The big whole above the seat belt mounting point that comes into the front cabin...
Just seal everything off like an FD car or any other drift car that has proper overs. The wheel well should be extended to the edge of the over fender. You can still slam the car and have all of the look you want with a safe fully functional over fender.
If you're taking the time to seal some stuff spend the extra time and do it right.

Not a single person has bashed the style he is going after one bit. Seems like you're just completely ignoring what is going on here.
Why the fuck wouldn't someone seal the quarters. Why would someone who put tons of time and effort into the interior of their car directly expose it to chunks of rubber and smoke? And like dude stated above, what if a tire explodes and pieces of burning hot rubber with metal cords protruding out of them fly into the cabin? How can you say things like this and be completely oblivious to legitimate safety hazards?

I wasn't aware of anyone stretching their tires, having low offset wheels, and having so much camber in the 90s to early 2000s.
And to the OP, wrong person to gain your "inspiration" from to build your car. Even the Japanese owner "built/hacked" his car all haggard. I also noticed some under body rust as well, I'm sure the Japanese owner did what he did to his car because rust is cancer. Unless you cut it out completely and replace it with new sheet metal, its just a matter of time before the car falls apart.
Like someone said, everything was sweet up until you started hacking up the car. It went from a 5 star build to a 3 star build. Appreciate the share and enthusiasm of building your car though.

My girlfriend, and I, have a drift beater, with overs and unsealed, and I can assure you that burning hot rubber doesn't make its way into the cabin when she blows a tire. Stop justifying giving this kid shit for no reason, dude.
All I'm saying is it is his build, so leave him alone. If he wants to leave it unsealed, so be it. It looks like he cleared the interior, so it won't be hard to clean if he keeps up on it. Who knows what his plans are later on.
This dude was doing really fucking well with this thing and doing everything right, until this. Putting so much time and money into perfecting an old chassis to ruin it like this. GG
And see right there, at the end, your OPINION emerges. Maybe, in his eyes, he's still perfecting this old chassis. That's all that matters since it's his damn car.

I have pics of/can name a decent amount of cars from the 90's - early 2000's with crazy offsets, unreasonable camber, etc.; but I get what you're saying Silverarrow, usually 90's-2000's style is functional ride height, slightly dished wheels, stocky body, etc. But this is besides the point, I agree that OP should definitely seal everything off to prevent any hazards to other drivers or himself.
These decisions seem kind of "spur of the moment" and need a bit more foresight before finalizing anything.

No one has called anything into question except for why you don't seal up the rear wheel wells. It does not inhibit your ability to do anything, just keeps your interior cleaner & makes the car a bit more pleasant to drive (though with what you've done so far it'll already drive like butt).

Quoted for Truth.
There is no sense in arguing about this, but DUDE, you are going to want to seal them up. Aint no one docking "style points" (or adding them for that matter) for leaving the wells open. It's just simply a drive-ability thing.
Don't dig you heals into the ground about it until you drive it and track it, all I'm asking, keep an open mind about closing those holes. (see what I did there... open/closed... :keke:)
Also, ask anyone REAL RACER that has tubbed their front wells instead of just cutting them...

As much as I love this car, thread and build, I also despise it.
Please, for the sake of future-proofing the chassis, just get some rear tubs in there!
My last S14 required some arch work to fit my wheels, I never did anything other than cut them open.. huge mistake.
You're in Canada, I'm in the UK. The conditions aren't far apart, only your winters are so much more harsh! It's not like there's a PS13 as clean as yours up for sale that often, neither are they cheap like an E36 would be.
I've seen it done before on a PS13, but the images are dead, else I would have shared them. It's worth the extra few hundred dollars just to prolong the life of the chassis! So what if true Shakotan heroes don't do it, I would imagine a reshell in Japan would be significantly cheaper.
I doubt you'll listen, but I bet you'll wish you'd done it one day down the line.

So with springs that stiff you've eliminated all the suspension function. Neat.
I wonder how the car will ride with just tires for suspension like an old fat tire 3 wheeler.
If you got rid of the forward rake it currently has you'd gain some clearance to the front subframe.
Also I'd recommend bent-type rear toe arms, your straight type are basically hitting the subframe studs.
Good luck with axles. :)

I don't see where I was being ignorant. You're complaining about smoke getting in the car, but won't seal up the holes...
You cut the fenders out for wheel/tire clearance and overfenders. Sealing up the holes that pass through to the interior has no effect on these things.

I personally don’t see the point in owning a car too low to drive on a public road or any surface that is less than perfect.
But it looks better than ANY ANGLE KIT that shoves the wheel out past the fender/Baja truck look.
It is a bit sad to see a car that looks tasteful and has some nice stuff on it, being cut up. But it’s your car and vision. Do what your going to do.
I DO VOTE FOR LESS ARGUING AND MORE PROGRESS. Still eager to see a finished car.
