Temp switch switch

I have an isr coolant neck. I bought a temp switch for it but the end switch touches the coolant neck. Will it be ok if does? If not what is everyone using?

I am unsure about that to be honest. But, if you don't want it to touch, you could re-tap it with a helicoil and ensure the threads don't go as far down. That way you get that 1mm of clearance you need. It might leak the way it is?

might be able to get a small bit of threaded rod to take up the space of the exposed threads so you can torque it properly. add some gasket maker ad youd be set.

probably not the best workaround but it would work.

there are a few problems with your set up other then the sensor touching the inside of the neck.
IF the ISR is the same as s-14/15 then that port you are using is threaded M14 x1.5. they are straight thread and do not need teflon tape, so it would not seal without a crush washer. Teflon is for tapered or pipe thread.

why not get a sensor that is threaded 1/8NPT and use the fitting on top?

Im using the top one for my temp gauge.

Call ISIS and tell them what you're encountering. It's their product, they should have a solution for it.
