Bought wheels from this noob.
http://zilvia.net/f/member.php?u=136753
He has a for sale thread
http://zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=629046
Advertised the wheels as 17 inches.
I bought them, paid his paypal fees too. Bought 255/40/17 tires for them 3 months later, and took them to the tire shop. Turns out they were 16 inch rims because the tire slipped right over. :picardfp:
I contact him, send him pictures showing that he fked up on measuring and ask him what he's gonna do about it.
He responds with "I just bought a house and car...so I have no money. Second, this went down in June. Had you tried to put tires on them 2 years from now, what would you have done?" - What a Jerk response.
And then I ask him that I would be willing to take refund of the difference of the cost of the wheels currently and what I originally paid.
Anyway, dude has no money to refund me because he bought a house, dude didn't even want to paypal me 650 (1450 - 800).
I tell him I'm going to dispute on paypal because he can't pay me by november. (paypal dispute limit is 6 months, bought in june)
And then this kid has the nerve to say "So you're going to dispute on the basis it isn't a 17" wheel. The rim is 17" and that's exactly what I'm going to tell PayPal man."
I tell him "why would you go against the dispute, that's wrong. I'm just going to end up winning anyway."
Then he tells me "I cant file a suit against PayPal after. I file the suit against you." pretty much saying he's gonna sue me. What an idiot.....
What do you guys think about this?
I filed the dispute for those wondering.

lol well paypal will review it all...just record everything and they may have you attempt to send the wheels back, his lack of wanting to work with you I feel will hurt him in the dispute.

Make sure you save all the information from the ad (DO IT NAAAOOOWWW before he edit's the listing) and go HAM on him.
However, why did you not check the stampings on the wheels to make sure yourself when you first received the wheels?? Unless they are custom rebarrells or whatever, this would have taken you less than 30 secs to check all four. This is Zilvia ya know.......never trust anyone!

I think that you should have asked for a picture of the back of the rims where the size is stamped on. But hind sight is 20/20.
This should be an easy dispute.
Seller's ad says that it's a 17 inch rim.
You thought that you were buying a 17 inch rim, but received a different product than what you thought you were buying. It's really open and shut IF you prove your point accurately.

Yeah, these wheels seem to have been rebarreled. Knowing from past ownership of a set, they put a size sticker on the barrel on ssr formula/reverse mesh rather than a stamp on the back. But who knows it's been so long since I last had a set too.

Why the fuck do you keep pointing this out?
He still has 2 months to dispute the sale.
Dispute, he'll lose.
He falsely advertised his item. It's his responsibility to be accountable for what he sold.
How do you not know what size your fucking wheels are in the first place? :picardfp:

I think STR8 H8N is mentally unstable. In addition, he went right ahead and posted "Are these wheels 20" " in the for original for sale thread to potentially have the original seller edit the post and remove any relevant ammunition the OP may have...........
I really think he needs to
a) Get laid
b) Get some D.......
c) Get checked out by a M.D
d) All the above...

How did you not notice it when you opened the package? Also, I wouldn't buy from a member with only 30 posts. Thats just me, doesn't mean anything though.

The difference between 16 and 17 isn't very noticeable. Especially when you don't look at wheels all day.

Option 1: sell them to someone looking for 16s, then buy different 17s for yourself
Option 2: relip/rebarrel to 17s
Option 3: file PayPal claims, post on zilvia, wait for people to comment, talk shit about seller, wait for PayPal processing, post in zilvia, wait for people to comment, wait for money, wait for shipping, wait for people to comment, etc. then curb rash.

lol, it's actually been resolved. paypal suggested a partial refund of 500. So I'm keeping them and stepping them up to 18's.
Originally, I was going to just use them as is till I had enough money to refinish them, but they don't fit my car as 16's because my brake rotors are too big. Can only run 17 and up.
I don't drive the car enough to curb rash the wheels as it's my track car. The last time I parked my car near a curb has been years.
