Please help me keep an eye out. I am located in San Diego, CA and the vehicle was stolen right across the street from my house in Tierrasanta. I have owned the car no longer than 5 days. The car was purchased from Arizona and still has AZ plates. The plates read "285HNS." If you have any info, please feel free to call me at 858-699-6887. Your help is definitely appreciated.

Yeah, the seller was definitely on my list of suspects. Even the police officer threw that idea at me. Well, cops are doing their job. Hopefully something will come up. Thanks for your support and input.

My gawd, 5 days? I was going to ask if you remembered the liscense plate number(California), but you said it still had the Arizonas on it. I think the whole drifting in CA craze, played a part in this. The potential that 240 has, and others involve played a part. I could be wrong, but it's just what I think.

Sorry to hear it man.....

I can appreciate this problem due to the fact that my last S12 (SR20 and a modlist to go with it) was stolen from my driveway by the previous owner who still had a key to the car.....

Keep us posted on what you find on it.....

If it somehow end up back here in AZ then me and one of my fellow SR buddies will be sure to find it quick.. especially a no cat one *non cat grabs my attention*. I will help by posting to AZ ppl...

Worst possible thing that can happen... they already painted it or changed to some other plates

GOOD LUCK!

Hey thanks once again guys. Well, as of now, the cops are still on the lookout (they're only good at giving tickets). Bad news is that insurance is only going to give me the kbb price. I should be happy they covered me at all i guess. Anyways I really appreciate you guys keeping a eye out for me. It's definitely comforting to have people know what im going through.

damn my apologies buddy, i really hope thats not your car on the street. it hurts to see all these 240s get stolen, but it serves as a good lesson to me that these cars are indeed a target and that dumping a nice chunk of cash to protect your investment is a wise thing to do.

If you guys notice what you think is an abandoned/stolen/stripped vehicle, call your local police department. Let them do the dirty work of recovering the vehicle & notifying the registered owner. Don't just leave it laying on the streets. The cops can fingerprint the car & find the bums that stole it!!!

maybe it IS a good thing that my car is taking forever. perhaps this craze will be over by the time it gets out of the shop :)

Iono how things work over there in LA. But over here in SD, there is only one team in fingerprinting and they handle ALL of the cases from petty theft to murders. And they work on cases by priority, not by the case number. I work at a bodyshop and about 2 months ago, we got robbed and a vehicle was stolen. It was recovered about 4 days later. The car was fingerprinted, but until this day, no suspect has been identified because it's still at the bottom of the list for fingerprinting crime team.

I dont think the people who stole my car will be behind bars any time soon.

As of now, the cops have not done anything. Guess I can't blame them. The thieves must be taking their sweeet little time with the vehicle in a garage somewhere. Insurance is going to give me 1/4 of what i paid for the vehicle. As sad or angry as I should be, I think that im still more in disbelief. I dont think I can forget the feeling I had when i first discovered the vehicle missing.

Oh yeah, the only thing Ive learned from this is there is no such thing as a safe neighborhood. So guys, secure your vehicles!
