Hey guys I'm new here so forgive me if this isn't the right section for this topic. Near where I live someone is selling two red top SR longblocks. $400 each. One has a knock and the other is well used and needs a rebuild to be reliable. He will throw in a lot of stock parts for free to go along with the engine. Do you think this is a good deal? If so which one should I get? He hasn't looked inside them to see what needs to be done. Thanks for your help!

For a Sr that need bottom end work I'd only pay 100 and 100 for a know good head that need gone threw. Good short blocks go for 500 just sayin

i paid 300 for one that had broken ring landing and rest was good...I usually see the in need of rebuild long blocks go for 800 but I wouldn't pay that much...400 is iffy...I would give him maybe 200 each if it all looks good to you and isn't locked up

if the "additional parts" are worth at least $250, then I'd go for it.
