WTF is wrong with my Single cam?

Tearing down the front end again because I installed my timing chain incorrectly (Because I'm learning). My car has always overheated since I bought it. Here's pictures of the thermostat hose elbow, and behind the water pump. Should there be so much sediment? I had a feeling its a bad radiator or maybe time to replace all the rubber piping with new stuff. Any ideas?

Not that uncommon for engines that were ran with dirty coolant/tap water for longer periods of time. You'd be wise to do a coolant flush
