*Someone move to South West please*
How exactly do you get the back fees waived in california? Do you just tell the dmv that you didn't know it had fees or you fill out a form? Any info would help thanks!

Not that easy, sadly. Normally it is your responsibility to check on a vehicles back-tags before you purchase it. Sometimes they help you out, but to my knowledge it's kind of a "hope" for situation.

I'm going to be totally honest with you, I misread what section this was in. I cannot say anything about out of state. Sorry! That's how CA is, so I'm unsure of out of state.
